Very helpful. But I tried with a template with 3 columns, what i see in design view is all columns are in the the left: the middle column is under the far left one and the right column is in the left under the middle. How can I correct it. But it shows correctly in the browser. Thanx

i have header body and footer all in container.

i get a white gap in between the header and the body when previewing live in ffox.

how do i fix this issue so the div boxes stay stuck together with no gaps? Thanks

I putted the left- rightcolumn and content in my container.

I setted the height for the container, right and leftcolumn on (auto). But the container-height doesnt move along with the column or content height.

What should I do it goes whit the content-height inside of it? Please help me out!

I would expect to set the ID of the divs, not the CSS Class names, then you can have only one of each. So, e.g., you create a DIV with ID=main. This gives a selector called #main in the CSS file, not .main. Do you see why that is better?

I'm trying to insert a div tag to may page layout that i imported from Photoshop. I'm deleting a slice where my content is going to be, and trying to insert a div tag, so i could insert a Spry menu bar in there, but i cannot put a background picture nor can i position the spry menu bar so it appears in the center of the page, instead of being stuck to the left side.

Actually this is a very detailed tut on divs with dreamweaver. It seems complicated but its just very informative, and after watching it a few times it drives the basics home and thus makes it easier to create your own divs properly. I am learning css on my own, and I am glad for this tutorial.
