@VeritasRose Ok, I just figured them out, maybe. D chord 6th fret and A chord 5th fret. I don't have the 6th string on my guitar so it sounds just like the video....so I don't know how it would sound with all the strings.

This is such a lovely, melancholy, poignant song, sung with such feeling and emotion and personal revelation. Lovely, lovely. But surely the song, the singing, and the guitar playing is more than just a little influenced by the style of Damien Rice. I hope she acknowledges this, and he accepts it.

@raspberrieswithcream when it comes to this style of music the music theory is all similar, it's all actually from basic "how to write songs on acoustic guitar books" which i've read haha so damien rice and rachael are showing the mastery of beauty in simplicity. both do it amazingly. she writes in the same style but definitely if you went to more acoustic open mics at wine bars you'd say "hey they sound like damien rice hey the sound like damien rice", at least it's that way where i live

I like her live performances even more than the recorded ones. In the recorded performances, it's like all that feelings that she puts into her music is sort of watered down and they try to perfect all of the notes. When she sings live, it's so much more raw and emotional.

What the hell are you talking about? Rachael Yamagata is talented and pens some of the poignant lyrics I've heard from any artist, she also just has a way of fully expressing herself when she sings. I can FEEL how painful these lyrics are and her fans and listeners can relate to it. There is beauty in the struggle and Rachael knows that very well. She must be a lady who is very in tune with her emotions and that is an admirable thing to do in this day and age.
