I'm inclined to agree, I hate. when some Hollywood hack takes a what is a great story and "mangles" it into some stereotypical, over produced, cliché stuffed,"sfx driven", over simplified goop.

But since he (Zack Snyder) was one of the co-writers of the original story I kind of feel that it is his prerogative to do what he wants with it,. So, unfortunately, his vision of the story wasn't "deeper" than that :/
