I find that the bass clarinet is kind of the middle child in of clarinets as it ranges from the mid range notes of the soprano clarinet and the mid range notes of the contra-bass which is why I enjoy playing the bass so much! Not quite a soprano and not quite a contra, but sounds magnificent!

Haha, I love comparing a clarinet with my Bass Clarinet, it is soo much bigger! Love the range of the BC too. I wish this guy had more emotion in his explanations though, he...sounds...so...dead!

@karatekween33 umm... Bass clarinet is only 1 octive lower than soprano clarinet... Contrabass, however, IS 2 octives lower than soprano. :P

hes wrong about the articulation speed being similar to a flute. completely wrong. the bass clarinet is a lot slower to articulate, especially in the middle of the middle register.

Thank you so much, I ued to play clarinet but my Band teacher said she needed a bass. As no one else raised there handed I stepped up to the occasion. Thank you got showing me the Basics, ad good Job on the Video.
