  • Hi would you please make a video about all types of metals and what go's with what that would help us newbies a lot:) thank you.

  • @fdlkfoo I know and I wish I had made one already! It is definitely on the priority list of videos to make. Thank you for commenting and we hope to get one up as soon as possible.

  • @KennyChumsky Thank you for responding to my comment I will look forward to seeing what you say on types of metals and what go's with what when it come's to taking your items to the scrap yard:) Happy Hunting.

  • hey kenny i have recently in the past week been looking for things to scrap on craigslist and i just searched in copper and found a bigass copper range hood for 20 dollars. i scrapped it for 50 pretty good gig. also ive been looking up stainless steel sinks that people post for cheap or free. just a heads up if you havnt checked it out already! hope you see this comment! i love your vids by the way.

  • @SethGaier1993 Great info, thanks for sharing!

  • i also scrap and sell on ebay...... i discovered that the best time to have your ebay listings end is between 5:00pm and 9:00 pm on sunday thats when the most people are on...

  • @threewheelsbetter I agree usually around 9pm Eastern is a good time for me, but sometimes I list Sooo much I just do not care what time it is. Just as long as it is between 10am and 2am Est... But you are right certain times do bring in better numbers...

  • Hi Kenny. I took a stove and gutted it out and got $24 including some copper and electrical motors. Do you have any advice on how to break open the motors for the copper?

  • @BrotherTuck1973 We do not because of the time involved. Good job on the stove!

  • do you or Kenny know what wall adapters are classified as? would these be motors? thanks I watch and thumbs up every vid! love'em

  • @kodibass Some people can get away with throwing the whole adapter in as #2 wire, but our junk yard is to smart for that. We have to cut the cord for wire and break up the adapter for the CBM (Copper Bearing Motor) Category. =)

  • @kodibass They are Transformers. same as the big ones in microwaves, and everything else with a power supply. At the scrap yard we go to we get paid .43 a pound for transformers, and the others go for electric motor price which is .27 a pound. Now we take the big transformers apart and get the copper out and get paid $3.45 a pound!! Happy Scrapping!!!

  • @MNdigger WoW! Wish we had your prices... =) We usually always take apart when it is not too time consuming. Thanks for the info and Happy Scrapping as well!

  • Pull the trumpets! even dinged many sell for hundreds on eBay!

Since you eBay; offer to become an eBay Trading Assistant. By doing so you can take consignments & auction off on eBay as a service for the yard which many don;t have the time or web savyness to perform themselves. Although typical rates are about 50-75% + fees (Buyer pays shipping) you get the rest to play with. This way you could still make thousands on the good stuff. I used to be one for 10 months but now may hire one =)

  • @Begbucks The instruments were the FIRST item I grabbed =) I have considered doing that. Especially with their horse, but they are not ready to sell it =) As far as the little stuff I'm getting a bigger profit by only buying what I want and selling it for me. Brass is tricky. Some items are only worth their weight and hard to sell because of shipping. I will make a vid when I sell the horns... LOL Thanks for commenting!

  • @KennyChumsky Buying is always best if you have the capital ;)

    Like your videos as always!

  • 3:08 I always worry when the yard operator swing around that electromagnet - don't want to get pancaked like Tom after chasing Jerry the mouse!

  • can i just ask how much you got for the electrical motors

    thanks x

  • @scrappyjoe12 Sure - 18 cents a pound - Which it ended up being 8 pounds - $1.44.

  • @KennyChumsky hi thanks not much then probs better stripping them i get a big bucket load and only get about 3.50 for them lol
