hardest boss in the game in my experience you have to fight this big jerk while being assaulted by powered up space pirates. Constantly weighing on whether to deal with the elephant in the room or those copy cat power stealing pirates. Meta Ridley and MP were a cake walk after this battle.

@Danielcreeper Shoot off his thigh and shoulder armour at any opportunity you can with a couple of charged shots with the Plasma beam. Maaaaan I remember when I first fought him. I actually didn't realise that when he was cloaked (forgot about the X-Ray Visor at the time) he was vulnerable. This tune coupled with the fact that his health didn't drop at all made me realise it was pretty hopeless... even when I finally figured his weakness out toward the end. xD

Its constant Phazon diet has increased its mass exponentially, but it has retained all mental faculties and shows dexterity with all Elite weaponry, including Plasma incendiary launchers and the chameleon manta issued for cloaking purposes.
Elite Pirate Upsilon exhibits miraculous healing abilities; when injured, it seeks out Phazon deposits and coats itself in the substance, which instantly mends the creature's wounds. The subject, which we are code-naming Omega Pirate based on these developments, shows potential to be a new standard for our armies. Our only concern at this point is its potential overdependence on Phazon.
Also: Pirate + Phazon =Omega Pirate +Samus =Phazon Suit +KO'ed Prime =Dark Samus. Dark Samus is part Pirate, on top of Part-Samus and Part-Metroid. O_O Also, read somewhere someone did a White Paper on Phazon, made it to be some kind of hypermutated formic acid (as found in most Earth-insect's stings) So she/it's a bug, too. O_____O
That's the gist of it. Though, to be thurough, I should add: the Phazon on Tallon was either generated by Prime itself, or by the Leviathan that Prime 'ate' sometime before the game started. And there's a big issue on when/where exactly the Metroid that became Prime (that became Dark Samus) got into the Leviathan, and if THAT one was a Phazon Hopper (so when did metroids first get to Phaaze), or a Tallon metroid, or a common metroid (presumably a Gamma from Metroid II) from elsewhere.
Reminds me of two stupid things they did for the Wii collection's version: when you kill Omega and he falls on you and explodes, they changed Samus' I'm-So-Fucking-Badass Pose into a generic standing pose that cuts off her head with the same camera angle meant for the pose, and when you get the grapple beam, they added a cutscene, of the damn thing giving machine-gun-like bangs and muzzle flashes.
I played this fight about 35 times on hard mode before I actually won. Then he fell on Samus. That boss pissed me off even after he was defeated. Still, a very epic fight.
This music is perfect for what seems like an impossible battle. As he just walks around slowly beating the crap out of you, you constantly keep shooting at him, doing barely any damage. It really fits that theme well. 10/10
This guy's not challenging anymore. At least not on normal or hard mode. If they added hypermode dlfficulty to the first two prime games, I hope this guy's hard for me on that difficulty level. Until then, I'm just using regular missiles against him. None of that supermissile crap.

@Shadowelf93 It IS in fact optional. You can do a bomb jump trick to get through that spinner shortcut, allowing you to scape the frigate and also the gravity suit. I think you can also get through the frigate without the gravity suit, but thats really hard.
Either way, ive seen someone get there without the Gravity Suit. Its possible.
@DarthiPanda I never found Gandrayda hard. Nor did I like her, and not becuz of sexism, Samus is way more awesome, but I prefered Meta Ridley. IN Prime 1, he was so hard, it took me 3 months to kill him. Who knows? If I could, I'd make a Meta Ridley vs Gandrayda video, of course, it won't be a one-sided battle.
@DarthiPanda Meh, Gandrayda was epic, but I have an intense love for all of the MP1 BGMs mainly because, imho, Prime was put together way better than Echoes or Corruption, and all of the music fit absolutely perfectly.
Like this theme. It's slow, epic, and fills you with a dread matching your reaction of first seeing this behemoth.

@DarthiPanda I never found Gandrayda hard. Nor did I like her, and not becuz of sexism, Samus is way more awesome, but I prefered Meta Ridley. IN Prime 1, he was so hard, it took me 3 months to kill him. Who knows? If I could, I'd make a Meta Ridley vs Gandrayda video, of course, it won't be a one-sided battle.

@DarthiPanda Meh, Gandrayda was epic, but I have an intense love for all of the MP1 BGMs mainly because, imho, Prime was put together way better than Echoes or Corruption, and all of the music fit absolutely perfectly.
Like this theme. It's slow, epic, and fills you with a dread matching your reaction of first seeing this behemoth.
