I had the pleasure of seeing this play live when i was 12 or 13 and I fucking loved it, it was soo amazing, not a second of it was boring i wish i could relive the experience i am now 20
i saw this at a collage play and it was incredible the actors knew what they had and mastered it, and had fun with it and entranced us with it, whoever those actors were, whoever they may be i must say i congraduate you for your incredible performances.
The part where Sancho comes in XD I'm a prisoner in this show currently, and yesterday we had to sing everything Capella. It was pretty funny when Sancho came in late!
I was a fan of this since first reading the book Don QUixote. I learned that there was a musical was amazed by its catchy tunes and its message for everyone.
Then, just this year in English class, we did this musical, and myself, knowing the lyrics to alot of these songs, was just happily putting my soul into it. It's such a great musical/play in general to just have fun with! :)
This song would be perfect for a metal artist to cover. The lyrics, the musical tone, the devlopmental rhythms would be perfect fit for a folk metal band like Ensiferum or a power metal group like Manowar. I believe the song's themes of glory, adventure and brotherhood would echo with such fans.
I could even see Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson playing the role on Broadway or the West End.
I've been addicted to this song since 4th grade in 2005 when I watched it on Quantum Leap and consequently checked out the libretto and score book from the public library. This year a show choir directed by Randy Sage actually performed this song in their comp show, and when we watched it on the coach bus, I freaked out when the band started playing, because I knew what song it was. ANother fantastic job
@latin0taste1983 I don't know, but I would guess it is there because Cervantes, who wrote the original novel, was Spanish and many Cubans have Spanish ancestry and of course, speak Spanish.
@latin0taste1983 Have you ever heard the expression ; Wind mill tilters? it's a referance to Don Quixote. Someone who is a windmill tiler is someone that tries to do an impossible task. Maybe the staute is about that?
I wonder if the FBI retain books like "Don Quixote of La Mancha" in their head because if you go back and examine the letter "Army of God" you will find that it was "indirectly signed" by a "gay man" that thinks he is "INRI" or "THE WALKING SUFFERING OF JESUS" and to be a "LITERAL REFLECTION OF THE SUFFERING OF JESUS" is to be "DON QUIXOTE OF LA MANCHA (BLOOD SPOTS)". "REAL INRI" IS "THE FACE OF A EMOTIONAL SENSITIVE PERSON".
Our school is doing this musical this year as our fall musical:) they started their first one tonight and then goes through Saturday(: I love it, especially our person who plays the main character
@MrUkuraa Yeah, I've been told to use this song to audition for Percy from the scarlet pimpernel, also a high tenor... I'm not sure how it's going to work out :P
