The range of dynamics and control are so special here in Zimerman's playing. Instead of emoting all over the place, his use of understatement make the high points even more exciting. The Vienna Phil is superb. It's like each one is playing with the same infectious excitement and commitment.

After seeing this video, I came to find there's nothing perfect in the world. Nothing perfect.

Compared to Glenn Gould's version, Leonard Bernstein and Wiener Philharmoniker Orchestra are far more better than those in Glenn's, however, Zimerman, obviously and unfortuanately, didn't understand Beethoven while playing. Pas du tout.

A man without passion cannot access to Beethoven only by his Schumann-styled sweetness.

i have no willing to persuade - if you listen to all these you'll find passion to Zimerman is nothing more than a Chopin's nocture - he's far from understanding Beethoven. Since everyone has his interpretation of music perhaps Zimerman reckoned this concerto as something quite similar to Chopin's No.1 piano concerto after all i do not persuade
