  • Sublime!

  • Unica !!!

  • Does any one know how this song is playd? Does she use a DADGAD tuning, or something else? Found Bert Janch tab for this song but i dont belive its the same arrenment.

  • @kmhob Bert originally played it differently & with a 12 string on the Nicola album. Anne features in part 1 of Acoustic Routes (Bert Jansch)) playing it differently yo this, on a 6 but much more like Jansch.

  • Beauty!!

  • baez AND briggs. and ESPECIALLY dizzee rascal.

  • Gorgeous and beautiful in its simplicity. Her voice is spellbinding.

  • anne briggs v joan baez?

well by a distance and half anne briggs.

    if it matters!

    this is a beautifull recording.

  • Haunting, beautiful.

  • Does not get much better than this. Poetry from the get go: "Drawing water from the well, spilling over on the grass"... says it all.

  • this song just made me cry. . .

  • @evammyar me too

  • This song outlines my sorrow in a way that no other does. I love both versions, but this version cuts me deeper somehow...

  • Outstanding it really is

  • Spare and moving, this song invites an emotive response. Very good indeed.

  • The most beautiful female voice in folk, along with Baez...

  • @gnomebottom Anne briggs poops on Joan Baez. Lot's more influential as well. Doubt Bert Jansch was influenced by Joan Baez very much.

  • That voice is divine!

  • Never fails to send shivers down my spine - the definitive Anne Briggs track - and she gave it all up to become a market gardener in Inverness!!!

  • the guitar makes me all nostalgic for some reason

  • this is altogether quite amazing.

  • "And may the west wind speed your travells and the sun be on your head , and make believe i'm with you ......." You did go your way , Annie !

    God bless you .
