- Once the menu pops up with the options like Lock this computer, or Start Task Manager, just click Cancel
This might not seem a whole lot different than what this video shows, but for those who have to do this every time they start up their computer, anything to make this less annoying helps.
I am still looking for a permanent fix to this, as everything I've tried has not worked yet, but there must be something.
I saw this on a post havent tried it yet but other post reported it fixed the issue. ---Make a wired connection to the 'net. Update the wireless card driver to current from support.dell.com. I just 'fixed' an Inspiron 1501 with this issue -- after a reload -- and am testing to make sure the fix holds. (Dominica, W.I)
For anyone that has this problem. Try booting in safe mode and then do a virus scan. If it dosen't work even in safe mode then take your windows cd, boot from it and press repair.
I tried everything I found on the internet, nothing FIXED it. with my trick I can use my laptop again. if you can find something that can FIX it let me know.

A slightly easier way to do this is as follows:
- HOLD Ctrl + Alt + Delete
- Once the menu pops up with the options like Lock this computer, or Start Task Manager, just click Cancel
