Well long story..but anyway when they first auditioned on the x factor, they didn't know each other and auditioned as solo artists. They made it up to bootcamp but failed to qualify for the boys category and were rejected. That's why they were crying...because they were eliminated. However minutes later they were called back and put together as a group, hence qualifying for the groups category and going up to judges house...
