@1My5Ass Did you push TAB and make sure it is wired up correctly? Have you loaded up a sample bank, or individual samples? Volume is on? If using the keyboard, did you select the Redrum in the sequencer before hitting all of the keys? Make sure the two buttons on the bottom of Redrum are on with the red lights showing? How about off? Other instruments working?
@spidertrax i think its wired up properly, volume on, samples in, i think the two lights are on
i have two combinators in my current song, one for a kick beat, and one for claps and snares
every instrument on my first combinator works fine
however not a single instrument works on my second
i also went and started a new file just to see if its a problem with my current work and every time i try, the second, third, fourth, etc never produces any sound with any instrument only the first
@MulishaMario64 There is sound. So either youtube was glitchy when you watched this vid (happens to me every once in a while) or you need new speakers man. It's kinda quiet, but definitely audible.
Hey man. I have the green check mark and it seems everything in my options is set up well. I have a basic keyboard with MIDI interface that works with Ableton and FL studio. Its a MIDI to USB cord I am using with the driver installed on the cord peice so it is Plug and Play. I just got Reason 5 and for some reason it won't make any noise or anything. I REALLY want to use Reason but I can't because of this MAJOR flaw! PLEASE HELP! I REALLY NEED IT!
man, this is awesome. What you showed for redrum in either this or the next video seriously helps me so much. I am learning and the person who has been helping me actually records is drums as if he were a drummer. So he showed me how to copy pattern to track if I make one, but I have been so limited until I just saw that you can use the notes!!! WOW, thanks!!
Frustrating confusion arising over the inability to distinguish between a keyboard and a keyboard - when you people suggest installing the associated drivers to get the piano-inspired-electronic-keyboard to make noise via reason, i'm pretty sure people are ACTUALLY asking how to get their qwerty-keyboards bound to particular piano keys. My qwerty-keyboard drivers are all recent and i'm still getting no sound, instead individual keystrokes are bound to toggles within the Reason 5 interface.
@seacucumberable Try hitting F4. This will bring up an on-screen keyboard. That keyboard should probably work with Reason, and allow for "qwerty" input. Then make sure the synthesizer is selected. Hope this helps!
HEY BRO i JUST GOT REASON INSTALLED AND IM TRYING TO FOLLOW YOUR VIDEOS TO LEARN BUT FOR SOME REASON I CANT GET ANY SOUND ON IT...WHEN I PRESS PLAY IT SEEMS TO PLAY BUT I DONT HEAR ANY SOUND...WHAT DO YOU THINK COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
sometimes on my computer if you have reason open or any other studio wich ever one you opened first will have the sound so if you open reason then the browser only reasonwill have sound
@picklejuiceisfruity make sure to download the driver for it and set it up in the preferences until you get the green checkmark - dont know what else to say
i dont know what i did but whenever i play a note it automatically makes it a sixteenth note its been that since i used quantize while recording PLEASE HELP thanks
ok do you need a real synthetizer because when i use my keyboard it doesnt make the sounds? ik its a weird random question but im new to this stuff so please forgive me
@analduct ''Rewire'' Next time you open your DAW, decide where you want your audio to go from, Example: from Reaper to Pro Tools or the other way around. The DAW ''Master'' should be opened first, and then you open the other DAW ''slave''. The slave will only work as an ''output'' DAW meaning you can create a track on your ''Master'', route your output from your ''slave'' to your ''master'' input. Only Audio can be routed though, not MIDI (That I know of).
@michaeldaleo you need to download and install the drivers for your keyboard so it works with your computer, then open up Reason and into the Preferences and activate it
my redrum refuses to make any sound
anyone know why
