These books are wonderful and a MUST READ!!! Ms.Vidal weaves historical characters and facts with conversations that one could have easily have been believed. Ms.Vidal enlightens the readers to the horrors of the French Revolution and the thousands of innocent lives destroyed in the name of "Justice!"

She says : "there was no slavery in France at all", but, actually, France at that time was one of the worst slavery-practicing countries in Europe. Slavery was practiced in all of the French colonies with the approval of the government.

I don't think Ms. Vidal is English. It is my impression from reading her Tea at Trianon blog that she is an American of Irish and Spanish descent. She is certainly very familiar with French history.
