  • how many push ups,sit ups and pull ups are males required to make at BMT

  • @Francische33 You can check out the specific requirements at airforce.com under BMT section. They also give you a workout routine to get ready. I'm not sure about the specific requirements.

  • @100PercentOJ your an idiot

  • Enjoy BMT and Tech School... they might put you out on the Flight Line later...

  • tell these people to shutup and join the Navy!!

  • @123nypd1 GO AWAY.... Troll.

  • @123nypd1 navys kicking out the most people outta all branches so no thanks haha

  • Practice that reporting statement. Both you and the MTIs can tell in the first couple days who didn't practice.

  • GREAT MOTIVATION VID.. IM SO HYPE BOUT JOINING

  • @Yungdro91 Make sure you listen to their words. what they say is true

  • Brain Washing!

  • @yaahme it is reculturalization becuase it strips away the selfishness and self centered attitude that we would have as civilians and better trains us to serve and be willing to protect the things that we hold dear in this country. It would be hard for a civilian to understand if they have not experienced it. I have gone thru it and now I am preparing to become a instructor. You should really get hard facts before you take a stance on it. It was hard but the best thing that i have done

  • @yaahme Tell me, what have you done for the world you brainless drone. You mock us because you can't be us and never will. You are weak, and can continue thinking we're "brainwashed."

DER DER I R MILITARY ROBOT.

What a moron and disgrace you are.

  • @MarcusKiner Im sorry but i have to ask i hope you dont mind. What in the world was your comment about?

  • @Silvawolf100 He was insulting Yaahme's comment which consisted of 'brain washing!', intended to insult AFBMT.

  • @yaahme The only brainwashed one here is you!

  • The video says it all. You are only there for 8.5 weeks then you are done. Take it seriously even if you understand the mind games. The little things they teach you there are for a reason which you will understand once you get into the operational AF. Pay attention to detail and don't cut corners.... unless you want to get recycled back 2 weeks. Your flight is your team, work with them, not by yourself. This is NOT a Army of One, don't treat it like it is.

  • leaving in about 10 days lol.. 2 August

  • @popacap21 Same here. I'm kind of stoked but very nervous.

  • @popacap21 Don't go!

  • bmt is a joke, try selections...gut check 101

  • 20 days left til i go, im so excited! ^_^

  • am I the only one that thought the girl with the glasses looked hot?

  • Who needs to train for this when you are a all-state track hurdle runner

  • @DWALK916

haha I'm a track distance runner and I won't have any problem with the 1.5 mile run.

  • This is what i did to prepare. Sleep in, party, stop working out 2 weeks prior. Enjoy every single bit of freedom you have.

  • @dvdsnuts. It depends on how dependent on your inhaler you are. Your still required to do the same amount of PT on a computer job as any other.

  • Question to anyone reading this-

If you have asthma are you automatically disqualified from joining any branch of the air force? (including indoor computer based positions or any other non physical area)

  • @DVDSNutz Yes, unfortunately :l

  • @DVDSNutz YES, asthma is an automatic DQ unless you get a waiver. And if your joining the AF...don't count on getting a waiver

  • @DVDSNutz No not at all. You're allowed to bring inhaler and any medical equipment as necessary. BMT will supply you with any Medical medicines you need

  • I still can't decide if I want to join air force or the marines. I'm in mcjrotc right now and i already know everything about the corps. Any ideas?

  • my advice to someone going to BMT is to be Chapel Guide... and if you're catholic then you got it made.... as Chapel Guide you wake up at least 15 mins before everyone else go eat breakfast, the longest breakfast you can ever eat. go to chapel, go to the catholic chapel, there's usually 8 other catholic chapel guides and it's hella better than the 56 you are around 24/7... trust me if people annoy you, than that 9 hours is the best time of the week and you will look forward to it.. best decision

  • Are you people kidding? When I went through Air Force basic, it was not difficult at all. The only difficulty was that I was at Lackland in August, and the heat was pretty intense. Other than that, no problem, whatsoever. Just get in shape physically before you go active duty. Primarily the running. If you can run 3 miles straight before you go, you'll be fine. The rest of the exercise is pretty fundamental.

  • 4 hippies

  • I'm in tech school right now, I graduated BMT this past Halloween. I turned 27 during BMT and I made it through no problem. If you are out of shape you absolutely must train before you start. I did and was able to fly through PT without a problem. The easiest parts for me were PT, Gas Chamber, BEAST and cleaning, the hardest parts were living with females 24/7 with ZERO privacy, wall locker inspections and marching. Its different for everyone but learn to love PT and your MTIs and you'll do ok

  • @kelfa23 What's 'BEAST'?

  • @skylardanks where they do a simulation of what a real battlefield situation would be like- fighting, almost no sleep or food--its about survivial and putting g all your skills to use. the USAF website has lots of details about every aspect of basic training

  • Here is my advice for all future AF recruits. For me it was an extremely easy boredom. I am a TACP operator and came in with top physical mark entering BMT, I left slower and weaker. The course couldnt even maintain what I had already accomplished but I still passed with flying colors, my two mile run was 13:35 after BMT it was 13:55 still best in the class sadly. At TACP school I was around average. BMT is for cooks and mechanics to learn how to hold a gun, waste of my time personally

  • Best advice is work hard and do your best.... coz i entered the bmt really unprepared... my initial run was 24 minutes... but during the bmt i believe i put more effory than anybody else... while everybody else as chitchatting or relaxing, i was exercising ...... manage to pass the bmt pt test with all my hard work and encouragement from my TI... it was painful, but worth it...

  • Best advice is live meal to meal. Only 2 more hours til lunch.. only 1 more hour til dinner... oh the day's over. Now I'm here in Korea seeing the world.

  • ah those words, brings back memories, "it doesnt get easier, you get better."

  • they've chosen the most ugly people around there to do this interview xD haha.

    no offense but it's hilarious.

  • @stanfosi Haha, all the guys look ugly with their bald heads. The best advice I can give is be physically prepared before going in and make sure you can do your sit ups and push ups as well as run a lot. When you get there just keep your mouth shut and ears open. Don't screw around as it will just make it more difficult for you and the rest of your flight. When one person screws around the whole flight has to pay. Remember it is only for 8 and a half weeks so grit your teeth through it.

  • hey I was wondering if anyone on here has joined the air force or the navy and knows whether its hard to get assigned to a specific base. I don't wanna get stuck at a base in the middle of nowhere. I'm aiming for San Diego , LA, ... or possibly Hawaii but i don't think the last one is very possible.

also the recruiter said you don't find out till after you join is there a way around that?

    any help appreciated thanks

  • @midgety1 In the air force its really hard right now, the chances of you getting somewhere you want ... slim to none at best.

  • @midgety1 lololLOLOLOLROFLCOPTER hawaii is not gonna happen. i just got assigned to the ghetto. little rock, Arkansas.

  • @doublexnchuck

just because you didnt get stationed there doesnt mean they wont

we got a couple of guys that have been their and couple are heading there

  • @doublexnchuck

    *there

  • 0:53 WHAT? she got to pluck her eyebrows? Our MTI didn't let us pluck our eyebrows til week 6!

  • I'm going into the Army. I bet I could easily go through AIR FORCE boot camp with no problem. I'm in shape, I don't have to prepare myself a head of time. I can run two miles in 12 minutes, so Imagine how much I can run in 30 minutes. I never get tired when I run, it's that easy for me. The AF goes by time, the Army goes by miles. You have to run 2 miles in 15 minutes to graduate.

  • @jacobbis4lovers its more than just running im telling you from experience. i thought the same thing

  • I left 16 March 2010 for BMT and Security Forces Academy (tech school) and i just got home last week. For anyone going into BMT or wants to know about BMT or Security Forces, send me a PM anytime! I will be happy to answer ANY questions about my experience and try to help those who are getting ready to go through it.

  • what part of the airforce flies fighter jets?

  • @xxxxRINEHARTxxxx

    Fighter Squadrons.

  • @xxxxRINEHARTxxxx depends on your base's mission. Some are supplies, recon, fighter wings.

  • @xxxxRINEHARTxxxx You have to be an Officer to fly

  • @iSkate7104 not true. There are enlisted flight AFSC's BUT in order to have control of the Aircaft you will need to be a pilot

  • jokes

  • Im going Active duty...

  • Make sure you are able to pass the minimum fitness requirements before entering BMT. That way all you have to do is worry about the mental part. Learn how to be clean and make sure to help eachother. Be able to wake up @ 4:30 in the morning and sleep at 9 at night according to Texas time. Believe me, BMT will not be that hard if you can accomplish the above. And if you can roll shirts, oh my gosh that would help out tremendously. The obstacle course and written final test are not hard at all.

  • Im joining within 2 years...What happens if I join with a GED?

  • @Airplanesaremything I don't think you can join the AF with a GED. The army used to allow GED's but since the economy is bad and so many people are joining, they are only accepting High school Diplomas. The army is the easiest branch to get into because the ASVAB score is the lowest and they make the most waivers. I think you need at least a 50 to get into the AF, Not sure, though. I just hope you are smart and study hard.

  • @jacobbis4lovers the minimum is usually lower for the AF but they are only looking for 50s and up, and as far as i know they have been turning away GEDs, the Army only needs like a 22 or something as of now

  • @jacobbis4lovers you can get into the air force with a GED you just need a higher asvab score, and no the minimum an air force recruit must score on the asvab is a 36.

  • @2013afroman in california the asvab score must be higher then 50 lol.

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx hmm.. I think that's everywhere.. all 50 states.. it's 50 here in Tennessee as well.. and yes Emmure does own.. great band..

  • @2013afroman That is correct I have a GED and needed to get above a 60. Almost 5 years later I'm a highly successful SSgt.

  • @Airplanesaremything

You'll need a higher asvab score.

  • im 15 and cant wait to go lmao i cant wait till i get outa high school !!!!!!!

  • it changed me for about the 2 months of BMT, then I got to tech school and went WTF!?

  • @Vajilante the truth

  • @Vajilante HAHAHAHAHHA What tech?

  • runnninnnnng doo pussshhh upppppss, sitttt uuppppppss that chic looked slow.

  • I'm so ready for this. Shipping out August 3. Crypto Linguist.

  • @marcusdaly Oh man you're going to love that - I was a Russian Cryto Linguist from 99-05. Monterey California and DLI will be a place and time you never forget. Try to go airborne if you can!

  • I'm in the army, myself, but I have freinds who are in the airforce an other branches and I respect anyone who's made the decsion to join one of the brances.

  • BMT is nothing compared to the training in some jobs in tech school; S.F, Pararescue, etc.

  • @Junomaster2006 Huah! I just got home from the Security Forces Academy! And to think, i thought BMT was hard when i went through it. Then i got to tech school and was like "DAMN!!!!"

  • @Junomaster2006 That's why it's called "Basic".

  • I leave for BMT on October 4th!

    Can't wait!

  • @XStormfalconX i leave october 5th!

  • shipping july 20th, going to be a loadmaster.

  • @desimatee ur gona take a load in the face by the drill seargent

  • Just finished BMT. It gets tough, and not just physically. Thats probably the least challenging part of BMT only because Its the only way you have to release stress. But remember, the first 2-3 weeks are the worst. They squeeze the civilian out of you and its painful, but you gotta get through it. It's worth it in the end.

  • I graduated BMT 2 October 2009 and it was the best experience ever. Just get used to doing things fast and getting yelled at. in the end i promise its all worth it. Getting your coin and then seeing your family rush out from the stands to hug you and tell you how proud they are, there's no words to describe that feeling. you will cry, you'll laugh and you'll make friends that you will never forget. Take it in and take it one day at a time. it will make you better.

  • I don't have a shipping date yet, but I'm going straight to Active Duty after BMT and Technical School.

  • Great video and helpful comments. Thanks everyone!

  • Shipping out June 14!

  • @chillinrick22 Oh, you are going to sweat.

  • @chillinrick22 best of luck!

  • @chillinrick22 Keep ur head up i just graduated May 7th. Always know it ends. Im at keesler for tech school. Just push through and week 8 when u get your coin makes it worth it.

  • Man i cant wait till leave for basic i start the 29th of June

  • I can't wait to become a better person. I recently enlisted in the AF and i am now waiting on my leave date for BT.

  • @bastardcheif Same here, man. I'm going straight into active duty after BMT and Technical School. It's just frustrating to wait for a shipping date.

  • Don't get a Avionics job =] Especially not Fighters, you'll be in tech school for 6 months plus lol. All I can say about BMT is if your are expecting the absolute worst and your mentally prepare for that you will find out that it will be exactly what you expected and survive. After the first two weeks you will understand the basics, know your daily routine, get use to the PT and the remaining weeks will fly by. You will be living from meal to meal and Sunday to Sunday. Good luck Airman.

  • One thing to remember in BMT: Pay attention to EVERYTHING. If you're given instructions for something, remember the steps and follow them exactly. Most things are very simple, but you really have to learn time management and multi-tasking. Good luck!

  • it's really not hard... it is mentally tough though. you can't call home or write home. the physical part is what most people worry about and really the physical is the easiest part. you do PT for about and hour a day and not on Sundays. and most of the time it's just a workout routine like sit ups push ups squat thrust. or you have a run day and you run for 30 minutes and don't stop or you will get yelled at and get a 341 pulled. so just keep running.

  • 4 days!

  • i leave april 20th :) i would love to go to japan or germany as my first base.

  • i went lastb year i been in for almost a year

  • i leave april 27th.... can wait!!!!!!!!

  • so do i?!?!?!?! maybe the same flight?

  • @ajb21410 hey man me too...maybe well be in the same flight

  • i'm enlisting very soon! :)

  • and I'm stationed in lackland :)

  • i leave march 8th. i cant wait!

  • The MTIs yelling at you isn't that bad, everything you do initially will be wrong, even if you are right. Just take it with a grain of salt and learn from mistakes.

Keep a positive attitude and do not give up! The first week I was wondering what the hell I was doing there but after the initial shock, you get into the flow quite quickly :D

  • I just graduated from basic training Dec 31st. 2009. Some tips to help those thinking about joining or already have and are about to leave is this.

Make sure you get stuff done how the MTIs tell you to do it. Never try to do shortcuts, and never overthink things, just do. You will remain on top of the game the entire time if you do this.

Make sure you are in good physical condition. You don't have to be perfect but be ready to wake up at 4am every morning to do PT for a hour or so.

  • IM LEAVIN TOMORRO, WHAAAAGAGAGAGAGAGA!!!!!!!!!!!......hua.

  • I LEAVE IN 18 DAYS

  • I have been in the Air Force for abt 10 months, I'm already on my first duty station, Okinawa, Japan! Basic training was mostly mental than anything else for me..and everyone i have talked to abt it!! prepare to pay attention to details! thats all i gotta say, and is not that bad, i actually liked it!!!

  • just have fun with it, it is what you make of it

  • learn how to roll a sand t shirt reall good

  • I loved basic so many memories I was the first to go through the new 8 week program. Like whitepipes said the fastest way to get out is to make it...if you try to quit they hold you a few extra months

  • i'll be enlisting soon and it feels right. In your first comment you said to prepare mentally...how do you do that? what do you mean? you talkin about preparing bein yelled at by drill sergeant's?

like the videos! helps a lot!

  • I leave for BMT January 12th. Basically you have to understand your commitment and be ready to leave home. You have to know if this is something you want to do and something worth doing.

  • For everyone who is getting ready to join and doing research on BMT, my advice is to prepare, prepare, prepare. you must be prepared physically and mentally or you will fail. Almost everything you do will be wrong at first but it does get better. The fastest way out of basic is going straight through and graduating on time. PS- the moment you have your airman's coin in your hand will be the proudest momet of your life so far.

  • My husband has been gone for almost two weeks already and I haven't heard from him. I'm starting to wonder if he's even getting my letters. When do they let you read your letters and call home?

  • @evlee8856able they really don't let you write home at all. i was at a street flight for five weeks and i barely ever wrote home.

  • I'm sure you've already gotten the answer to this question, but it's usually around the 3rd or 4th week

  • @evlee8856able i wen throught BMT a few months ago and i only got to make 3 calls home and send a hand full of letters but as soon as he gets to his tech school he can call you every day so it gets a lot better after bmt

  • @evlee8856able he prboably doesnt have the time your usualy always busy the dont get much sleep

    and they are always training

  • @evlee8856able Dont worry he is fine especially if he is airforce.

  • @evlee8856able he is getting your mail.BMT training daily is from 0505-????hrs. Time for him to write home is all a matter of making use of the few times you have to do things such as write home. when I went thru people usually stayed up and did this after lights out and the MTI left the room. His letters wouldn't be mailed till Sundays. The trainee who goes to chapel will take all the letters in the flight to a mailbox. I am in the process of submitting a package to be a MTI.

  • @mcolemanfosterable good luck becoming an MTI

  • @evlee8856able has he called yet?

  • @whitepipes1985 Share some advice with me please. Im a jr in high school joining after.

  • just two more months for me n i will b there

  • im joining air force reserve. im hella excited for BMT. everyone says its really hard but, in my opinion, its only hard if you make it hard. other people say its juss like PE. im getting myself physically fit for BMT. i know its gonna be tough but hey, this is my decision and this is what i wanna do.

  • i also joined the reserves. i leave feb 2. when do you go?

  • bmt is not as hard as much as it is a pain in the ass.its time consuming, but for the ost part its fun.except zero week.tha shits no joke idc who u are

  • Im hella excited to!! When's your date?

  • look i thought the same thing get physical but what you want be prepared for is mentally

  • @djsicwitit It doesn't matter how prepared you are its still going to break you down emotionally gauranteed, I've been in a little over a year now and I remember every part of my BMT.

  • @djsicwitit
