@xXRoyaltyXx7 The thing that hit it is a 3,300-pound barrier moving 31 miles per hour. Compare the vast majority of cars with lower side-impact ratings.
@bestamerica It's all a question of risk. The risk of serious injury from deployment, particularly with an out-of-position occupant in the rear seat is greater than the reduction in serious injury risk with deployment of a side torso bag in the rear seat. Goal is to prevent the most and cause the fewest serious injuries, and the balance tips away from a torso bag in the rear. You'll be hard pressed to find a rear seat torso bag in any car.
This test most certainly is not fake. The driver dummy is if a size of a small female or teenager, the most vulnerable people in a crash of this type. The seating position is adjusted accordingly. All cars are tested with this dummy. Perhaps it seems like the seat is adjusted further forward than most because of the large, effective head restraint that juts forward. EuroNCAP's test isn't nearly as demanding as this , they use a much smaller barrier.

This test is FAKE!! Look at the front seat distance from the B-Pillar. B-Pillar has an important role in an event of a side crash.
Look at the EuroNCAP test (2001 model) and see the diference.
Definitely they hate Volvo safety.

2006 Civic has no chance against a C30, let alone an S60.
