What's funny is that when Shadoe announced the Davidson version of HS, when he said John Davidson's name in the intro, he roared out "JOOOOOOOHNNNNNNNN DAAAAAAVVVIDDDDSOOONNNNN!" But when it came to the Tom Bergeron version, the weird part is that he never roared out Tom Bergeron's name like that.
in the car win clip (from l to r): Shecky Greene, Kelsey "Frasier" Grammer, Tia Carerre (on Corsica), Joan Rivers, Shadoe Stevens, Charo, John Davidson, Irwin Corey, and Lainie Kazan. Also the balloons dropped before turning the key.
Interesting hearing Howard Stern being the announcer. Why couldn't the most recent incarnation of the show have been more like this? Merril Heatter, the executive producer of the original, may have called this 80s version a circus, but it's a circus that was the greatest game show on earth!
Yep, the 1st half of S1 of Davidson HS did INDEED tape at NBC Studios, the same home as the original Peter Marshall version.
In the second half of S1 and/or part of S2, Davidson HS taped at ABC Television Center. Later, they taped at FOX Television Center and Universal Studios in Hollywood.
Yeah, this is what I remembered most about this show . . . the beautiful balloon drops, but just DON'T POP them! They are way too beautiful for that :) .
Howard Stern actually sounds more energized in this video than he does in the other Hollywood Squares clip on Youtube.

Instead of the credits, can you make some compilations of the actual questions? The funny bits?

Yup, I could definitely see that :) . One of the red deflated balloons came down right before three.

GS47363 4 years ago
Never mind, now. I know what it is. A 1988 Chevy Corsica.

I'm not sure. But was it his 1st or 2nd attempt in which he won it?

That car win was fun I also missed it when they displayed all five cars one at a time just before the player plays for one.

shadoe has an impressive hair style there. Kinda makes you wonder where michael bolton got the idea for his hair

Did you also know that the bell-sounds they used in the car win were also used for big wins on "Scrabble" and "Sale of the Century?"
megamanj2004 4 years ago
you know since you mentioned it it does indeed

Makes sense considering they taped the first season of this version at NBC in Burbank.

How many game shows have had the show's announcer (as well as regular panelist) sub when the show's regular host was unavailable?

Why is Professor Irwin Corey always hasty on facts rather than questions?
