If the industrialized world is expected to just chuck it all in and go back to subsistence living....who the heck does this mime think is gonna clone all those poor endangered species? ;)
it's time to move on to better ways of life cleaner smarter and less greedy ways we got everything we could from oil it's time to move on I know it is for America
the industrial age needs to taper off and let way to renewable age were we don't put all this toxin in the air and spill oil all over the oceans we would already have had huge leaps in renewable enegrys if people getting in the way of the bills that were to be passed years ago this topic wouldn't be a problem in a perfect world we used the oil and we now have trades with all sorts of bad people for this oil and you know what's at the heart of this problem... greeed
Oil, coal and natural gas are not finite resourses. When will people get that through their heads? Do you think that the Earth produced all of it millions of years ago and then just stopped? These things come from decomposing animals and vegetation. The process is still happening as I type.
Do you think that you could eat a can of beans and then fart all day for one day and then never fart again? I got news for you. Natural gas is the earth farting and it does it all the time.
@marsbars090 The industrial age does not need to "taper off". They need to do what they are doing, which is find safer cleaner and more efficient ways to use those resources.
Solar, wind and even hydro-electric power are dependent on weather. Weather is unpredictable. Hence the need for fossel fuels and nuclear power. As I mentioned in my previous post, fossel fuels ARE renewable.
BTW, its very hard to read you posts with no punctuation.
No it will be something else, like wanderclyfe tower energy. You seem a robot paid by the industry.I love fussil fuels,I thought you were a comedian at the begining, but you are just an Us citizen.I dont mean to be disrespectful but you are so unevolve and live into the old paradigm of capitalism vs socialism get over it.transcend !
@mattbell555 Alex Epstein has addressed numerous times that he's not receiving preferential funding. And even if he was, who cares? It's an ad hominem argument.
@BlackWolf4830 sorry english is not my primary language. You got my point yes or not? ad hominem "is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or belief of the person supporting it"wrong if you are being paid to do something it means that you are biaised ,your rationality and emotions are in a tunnel vision.
@mattbell555 But you are using ad hominem, by the very definition you provided! You're attempting to refute the arguments made by Alex Epstein and Eric Dennis by speculating about their funding. And on top of that, you provided no evidence for their funding. Saying that the person who made the argument is biased does not negate the actual argument being used.
Attacking the opponent verbally, not his argument is the simple definition of Ad Hominem. The only rational way to discuss anything is by refuting a statement. You see how if I said nothing you say matters because of some fact outside the discussion that does not make your statements false, I must disprove your statements not you to defeat your argument. If you can refute his points please do so. If not then you don't merit further discussion.
Industrial Progress nails it again. Great work Alex!
There are a lot of people uploading videos of these people making fools of themselves. Most are highlighting that they are morons or that they are just plain ignorant of history.
You however seem to be excellent at bringing out the fundamental ethical positions and attitudes of the protesters. The hatred of Steve Jobs and the hatred for man generally that have been expressed by protesters in your videos are very illuminating.
"I rather listen to scientists than to people who come up with theories"
1) These two groups are one and the same. Scientists come up with "theories" (hypotheses) and try to prove or destroy them. That's the defining scheme of science
2) Try Richard Lindzen, he's a scientist at MIT and relies on actual measurements instead of political activism like Hansen.
3) The sea levels are falling for 2 years now, the warming has stopped since 13 years, as shown in Berkley's BEST study, while CO2 rises...

Great work, Alex. I guess there are some people who are already so brainwashed that it is not possible to discuss anything with them.

@mattbell555, you said "...if you are being paid to do something it means that you are biaised"
James Hansen and all the other climate scientists are paid for their work, so they're biased too.

@OzDelphi yes it is a possibility.I dont refute that.

Actually, I think we are "super-beings". The skyscrapers standing behind that man are one small token of proof.
