She does have some good points. It is true in the "real world" that one should not control all. It is historically proven that the further you extend your reach, the thinner you become, however that is only true on "how far how fast" statistics. For instance. Let us say America wants to take over mexico. No problem, our army would crush them in a matter of days-weeks, with very little trouble. Then we take Canada, which would be greatly harder and thin us out allot because *count*
@Asodinn because Canada with the back of Europe would put up an epic battle, it would actually make more sense for us to extend to south america. However neither Mexico, or south america grant us any bonus to our armies. In fact it takes away from our resources, because there will be allot of hungry hurt people who just lost their homes. No unless we kill EVERYONE within the country, there will always be a chance of rebellion. Etc... So let us say for argument sake that we take *count*
Respond to this video... south america, and canada. Their land, their resources, and we've even managed to manipulate their people to fight in our war. This would be a 5/10/20 year process to incorporated them. To avoid spreading our self thin, we need to sit quietly, the sleeping giant concept. Then merge on the next, which from there would most likely be Africa, or such. We'd identify our allies, who are also our greatest threat, and work around them. However we can grow *count*
to take over the whole planet, and occupy every country, but only in time, we need to rebuild our forces, replenish our resources, and incorporated the local into our army to strength our numbers. The problem that Neop, Alexander the great, and so on had, was just this, too far too fast. If you put more on a boat then a boat can hold, the ship will sink. However if you expand the boat properly at a greater speed than you are adding people, then the boat will float forever. par nature.
However in a board game like Risk, you don't have those types of population and eco problems, your only economy is your people and lands, your only population is your army, therefor you need both tactics and strategy, and it must be flexible and not static. So while in the real world some of your ideals are correct, in the game of risk, nothing your saying has any merit. lol You just don't compare games to real life, even if it just for the simple fact that you don't die in a game lol.
im not sure where youve collect your facts from on empires but i think youve misinterpreted alot of information.
the british empire held about 1/3 of the planet and didnt which is considered to be a large territory.. they didnt lose it / over expand, they decided to release it to the commonwealth. not including the tatical islands ;)
and napoleon was an amazing strategist his biggest downfall was that he had a french army
its nice to see you have an interest but you need to sharpen you pencil
The original game that RISK is based off of was made up hundreds of years ago. Of course they think the bigger army is more effective! Learn what you are really saying before you say it.
Yeah, no shit, you learn all of this in Military school. And on top of that, the gernrals don't make the decisions, its the retard leaders (President, Congress, Senate, ect.) who give the generals the orders to do so. So they make dumb decisions because they didn't have the same training. And it's just a game.
You offer no solutions, criticize Americans for playing a game of global risk, and yet you do not back up any of you info except with the fact that "I grew up with it". Plus you are part of the problem of American stereotyping
Any one truly versed with risk tactics will also note that afganistan is not one of the actual strategic points in the game. The most legendary battles from my experience occur in the middle east, Iceland, Venezuela, Kamchatka, or a mass counter attack from Siam.
If you believe risk is the FOUNDATION of basic American military strategy, you must be able to prove this. I've never heard an American general say "it's just like a game of risk." If you are attempting to prove American military use is insufficient by using a risk map, I'd like to point out american forces outnumber all other military forces in your game 2 to 1, therefore they basically won the game.
You fail to convince me to take any action whatsoever. You criticize the army for falling into ambush, then you say all nations have done it. You do not cite any moment in history where leaving a country alone is beneficial to our own. That strategy didn't work for Germany after ww1, and u don't substantiate evidence to prove it would work today.
RISK isn't a strict military simulation. RISK doesn't account for the logistics of long campaigns; you can conquer the entire world in one turn if you have enough people in one territory and you think this game drives American politics? You realize RISK was created by a Frenchman in the 1950s and that it is a broad simulation of 19th century warfare? No, of course not... but please actually take some time to research your points; American soldiers are not terrorists and America is not an empire.
Napoleon was chasing the armies until he made a mistake. breaking his army, stuff like that. Napoleon was one of the greatest strategists in the world. also, RISK DOESN'T HAVE NAVIES OR PLANE BITCH. all i can say. yes. we suck at seeing ambushes. no, the best place to put an ambush is dependent on the land, not WHEREVER A LONG WINDING ROAD WITH A HILL NEAR IT we don't have resources? and there is no mud in the desert. ITS DRY they fight us because of their beliefs thumbs up if you like my posts!
she is right. holding the world is how empires fall. BUT ITS A GAME! my strategy is that if you hold n.America, you can get 5 guys to take s. America then Africa then Australia then Europe then finally Asia. the main reason to play risk is to get the idea that attacking isn't the best way to win. sometimes its to hold back while two countries battle it out. then take over. but she is crazy. she thinks Americans are stupid. bitch. risk is a game of strategy and luck. (the dice) its a fun game!!
@legosniper421 lol, she's a dumb bitch, the reason america didn't destroy the vc's is because they wouldn't give the order to kill everyone. That means women, children, everyone! because we have too many damn tree huggers! D:
@macleb lol, really now?? and where are you from??? ;) last i new no one fucks with us, and guess what! when america jumps down someones throat the rest of you countries cry and make bs rules so we have bull shit wars like iraq let america lead it without you tree huggers and we'd fuck them up :) true story argue all you want you'll lose :D
Risk does not reflect American cold war thinking and nuclear war. Risk was invented by a Frenchman in the 1950's. It's a broad simulation of warfare in the 19th century. There is no nuclear warfare in Risk.
Also what is your point... You re-tell stories of losers, and if you are saying America will lose just say it. That's what you THINK, I under stand you know some history, but make a point in your video. Would it kill you to speak like the adult that you are, your to condesending!
Honestly I don't like your tone, you talk down to people who's job it is to think about what happens to soldiers lives. I must say, I don't think you have every been in Combat, and until you have do not pass judgment on to the people who die to keep us safe. Please do not use the game RISK to bad mouth anyone. IT'S NOT A MOVIE, damn it you are so insensative. I wanted to look up Real Strategy's for risk because I enjoy the game, yet I found a women who felt she had to vent.
woman. Your so stupid forreal, if you don't like the United States then leave, I really don't feel like having to pay for your healthcare when I'm old enough to have to pay taxes.
Fuck you
Leave
And don't come back
Suggestion:
Canada, they have free healthcare and almost no military have fun sitting in line to get a new colon for 3 years dip shit.
Your wrong lady. Risk is about balance, not power. Everyone starts off the same so to win you wait for the perfect moment to strike. If you attack too soon everyone will ally against you. If you start to late to strike you will be dead before you know it.
