  • How long does it take for the pd-100 pad/s to wear out? The snare on my Alesis dm10 studio snapped within 2 months, so I'm gonna replace it with a nice Roland. I don't want the pad to develop dents and marks quickly, will a mesh pad be a solution?

  • @Shikibob My PD 100 pads are still in perfect condition after 10 years of playing them.

So yes, the Roland mesh pads will be a solution.

  • Hello can somebody please do a demo video using the vh-11 on the td-8... I NEED to know how well that works:-)

  • good drummer...a natural.

  • Can I please have your drumming skills for one day maybe?

  • very nice, man!

  • Abso-feckin-lutely Outstanding.....

Love it Love Love IT !!

    Amazing !

  • Electric kits are gay.

  • @akuro123 You have no clue, seriously with technology these days and drum software. You can make a E-kit sound and feel very close to acoustic. Ive had an acoustic kit and loved it but got tired of the same ole drum sounds the the kit produces. With a E-kit and Addictive Drums , I can own some of the best kits ever made. I can also play RockBand with it. Can also record anytime I want without the headache of setting up mics and sound checks. It has many benefits. Open ur eyes and realize

  • @SabbathTheBlack Yeah ok E-kits are convenient and that's the only reason I would get it, but I would always perform with an acoustic kit. You can do more with an acoustic. The only reason you're bored of the sounds on the kit is because you don't realize how many sounds you can get off a kit. Like the rim of a cymbal, the different pitches you can get when you strike the rims differently. All those things come into play. Acoustic kits are always better. Buddy, you need to realize.

  • How did you use 4 toms with the td-8?

  • @fosmark: with a Y cable going in to the AUX 11/12 input. One side is for the 4th tom and the other side for a china or extra crash.

  • You're my hero.

  • What cymbal pads are you using? I'd like to get some for my TD-8. Currently I have the stock pads on mine.

  • @NLind The crash pads are the Roland CY-14C, the Ride pad is the CY-15R and the Hi-hat is a CY-12H

  • The 2box Drumit 5 beats the shit out of TD-20. Roland doesn´t even have alternating samples!!! Check this out to see what I mean....

    watch?v=YpjZWujoTDY

  • Great stuff.

What is the name of the song and group you are playing to.

Can you e mail me at dean.derose@comcast.net

    Thanks.

  • Fairly safe to say that the drum solo is savage. Sounds great, mate.

  • how on earth does this feature work exactly?

  • @myspacceer: WHAT???

  • @uwepetersen

well i noticed this drumset has these kind of songs you play along too, like funk and techno (thats all i know so far) and it plays along to what your playing. how does that work?

  • @myspacceer: the songs in the module are like play-a-longs. They don't adjust to what you play on the drums.

  • @uwepetersen Wouldn't that be a compliment saying you have good timing? Lol

  • @Drummerkid74: One could take it as a compliment lol Thanks

  • @myspacceer: It's a simple play a long that is programmed in the module, you press Play and it starts.

It's that simple, just like an iPod

  • what is the price of this drum model??

  • @mastercrix19 a few thousand.

  • .......

  • wow well done

  • nice man

  • I've seen some pretty bad hacks on youtube brother and you are NOT one of them. You are the real deal all the way around.

    Great playing and sound.

  • well god damn, that was cool

  • you need to play this live

  • Awesome man, very love and love those flams variations after the quads...you're a solid ass drummer! I'm thinking about upgrading from my TD8 to the 20's. Did you download any Vexpressions kits? the kit sounds great!

  • Get another camera and this video would be the bomb!

  • Great drumming....you need more music in your solo...very good dude

  • thats funky...

  • Comment removed

  • nice dood

  • Good job man :D

  • You sound great, and so do your drums! If you play them without having the elec. turned on, is it enough sound to bother neighbors or husbands or wives who are in the vicinity? :) That's important for me to know. Your system sounds the best of all those I've watched online as of yet. Any idea what I could expect to pay for a smaller, used set? I play just for fun and now I need it for fitness.. it's really impt. Thanks and I love funk!

  • @Thanks for your comment, the Roland V-drums are great for playing quiet.

the mash heads make it possible NOT to disturb neighbors. I don't know

about husbands or wives. It depends on them ;-)

Just make sure that the pads you get have Mesh Heads on them, they are

more quiet than rubber pads. Check on ebay for the

    Roland TD-3, TD-6 or TD-8.

  • @uwepetersen The TD-9 version is great but it seems i have some disadvantages at moving around the kit and pushing my fills to a more, faster pace? i guess but i don't have the mesh heads. and im trying to figure out if there is some way i can possibly record my solo on the drum brain, and upload it to my laptop. is that possible?

  • nice playing

  • metal is where its at

  • Impressive!

  • What's so much better about the TD-12KX in stead of the TD-9KX because TD-12KX is a lot more expensive.

    Grtz

  • i have a question, will the v-drum pads (pdx-8, pd-120 etc..) work with the alesis dm5 module? Thanks

  • Yes, a Roland mesh pad will work with a DM5.

  • lmao, that aint the td-9, it's the td-20

  • That was very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a drummer of 15 years, I'm glad to finally see something worth watching on youtube. Very nice!!!!!!!!!! Very nice!!!!!!!

  • Yeah!!!

  • very cool!!

  • holy shit u played well

  • 1:34-1:39!!!! Yeah Cat!

  • Real Slick!!!!!!!

  • yeah!! muy bueno

  • Excellent playing my friend!

  • thats a REALLY nice set!

  • WOW ! splendid stick controll there ! such speed and accuracy ! rock on !

  • Just plain killing it. Loving your work, i will be taking notes from you!!!

  • that was sweeeet

  • maaaate, get yourself on an acoustic kit and u will please audiences

  • Maximum respect!! Really enjoyed the video. Your style reminds me of Weckl in some ways...awesome.

  • You owned. you aren't a drummer, you practically are the drums.

  • How I wish all drummers had a good practice routine, like this guy obviously has.

  • Playing is exceptional the sounds are horrible

  • ROAAAAAR

  • awesomen men...you got it...incredible control overall

  • hell yea....finally a drummer who can drum!

better than 98% on here. good playing dude.

  • haha lol this song is also on my father`s drum computer

  • not bad for electric kit :)

  • marvel vs capcom ? does anybody notice that?

  • Killer!!

  • dood is no joke...

  • Hey man.... Do you know if the roland td 9 will do music phrasing from the pads.... like your doing here? Thanks...you always rock!

  • I don't know but it's possible since all Roland modules have similar features.

  • Funk me, now that's a mother funker with some serious natural feel.

  • Not too shabby. The audio quality of the video undermines the overall effect., though.

  • Cool, i didn't know Roland had a Mario Bros play-along song!

  • jajajaja nick barker !!!! jajajajaja it is travis barker !!!! DUMBASSS

  • this song reminds me of marvel vs capcom 2... if anyones played that game before ;].

    great drumming

  • sick!

  • Excelent ;)!

  • nice drumming, apart from the fact that the solo didnt have a "funk" feel for me :(

    4 stars :)

  • boss

  • Check RHYTHMTANDEM and play your bassparts live and realtime.

  • ThatsSumFunkyShitMan!

  • I think you are really really good. I just wish you wouldnt play tripplets the WHOLE time. You do them very well though. Just a bit repetitive. You got the weckl thing down though:)

  • dude sweet man

  • whats the song?

  • It's the "FUNK" play-a-long from the TD8

  • extra

  • do you have td20 pads on it?

  • Nice stuff.

  • whats the difference between the td8 9 and 10????

i tough there was only hd1 td3 6 9 12 and 20!! please answer me! i hope you understand my english

  • The TD8 & TD10 are older models from Roland.

These models come and go as technology advances.

  • thank you!

  • does the td8 have the pictures in vediting

  • Yes

  • Thanks! Do you know if Alesis SURGE cymbals will work with it?

  • how do you split your aux? and bass cuz you have 4 tom toms and an extra pd8 or something

    Pls tell me

  • You need a special cable with a stereo jack on one side and two mono or R/L jacks on the other side.

You plug the stereo jack in to the TD-8 jack 11/12 and conect the other end to your pads.

    From the Roland TD8 manual:

With the optional cable (PCS-31) or standard insert cable, two pads may be connected to the trigger inputs 1/2 (KICK1/2) and 11/12 (AUX1/2).

  • Very nice!

I love jamming to this tune on my kit.

  • Congratulations mr. petersen u.r. an excellent performer.. very good

  • that comment was aimed at muserockk37 wan*ker

    -this guy rocks though

  • Nice

  • Great solo. The vdrums are just awesome.

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!

  • Seriously, try the mesh pads. They still aren't exactly the same, but they are pretty damn close.

  • Are you using a double base kit?

    Great....

    Scott

    Blue Coyote Band

  • shit hot drumming! pity about the sound quality.

  • You need too.

  • you need a life... the world needs less peopla like you, why dont you take your attitude and your "frums" and put them up your

  • u need a life... the world is better without people with your attitude, why dont you put it up your fat ass?

  • how is the td3 better?

  • OK so you profile is of a no grade drummer with a six pack and rich parents for a guess. Of course i can see your proper talented judging by your profile which has no videos of you backing up your comments. Stick to being a tosser its clearly what you're good at.

  • how do u do tht fast toms whre its sounds like a fast jumble os orgasims? lol teach me or helpvexxplain how u do it for meh plz =]

  • looks like a TD 20

  • great solo men, cheers

  • Very nice playing man, I would love to hear what it sounds like with some higher quality recording. DO you have a site?

  • I hate the advantage electro drumset users have over acoustic drumset users

I play acoustic, and the bounce you get off toms on electrics piss me off

  • You are wrong about that, there is no advantage other than the fact that you can play electric drums with headphones.

The rebound you are talking about from the mesh heads is overrated.

  • if you post a video of that drum solo, with an acoustic set, Ill take your word on the the hole electronic drums with mesh heads have overrated rebound, I am a firm believer that the rebound you are getting is making it alot easier for you to do that solo, I dont think it would sound half as crisp as with an acoustic set, but if you have access to I would ove you to take up the challenge! I think your amazing, and really wanna see if its true

  • Please check out my video "Drumming to a loop" or just go to my YouTube page. I play similar stuff on that.

If you are than still not convinced, than I will try to make a video with that Funk tune on my acoustic drums.

  • Whoa, Ok then, You win, that is truely amazing! I checked it out and am blown away, very nicely done, thanks for that man, you truely are amazing!

  • What's that tune you're playing a long to? It's so catchy and ace. I love it!!!

  • Sehr gut (Viel besser ☺)

  • sur guht

  • THE Uwe Petersen?

  • YES, THE ONE AND ONLY.

  • AWESOME !!

  • haha nice video and great solo in the middle

  • You're one crazy motha! Call me anytime for jam :-)

  • Where are you located?

  • woooow great skillz there!

  • NICE! I cant wait till Im older and I can get a ton of nice drums.

  • Are these pads (PD105 and PD85) as quiet as the PD8 (the simpler one)? I mean, if you are praying using the phone, people in the room listen too much noise from the pads?

  • i got the td6 with mesh snare, i think now its discontinued, a new model called td9 is coming out, i love my kit, no complaints

  • OMG i want it!!!! I only have the classic.. T.T

  • How loud is the sound if i were to wear headphone? because i live in an apartment and i might wanna roll in the night...

  • The kick would give you some problems, the pads not so much.

  • that kit brand new is around 5 thousand dollars.

  • amazing man. tell me how much would a kit like yours cost?..im lookin around to buy one but its difficult and very hard to decide.

  • Yeah, it's expensive to buy a module AND a kit!

I went with VPT and I won't go back. I use Real drum samples so they don't sound so... module-like?

    Great Drumming here, though!

    -mikey

  • wow..

  • Solid style bro

  • TD-8?

    It looks like V-20

  • nope. thats definitely a td8

  • Which is better?

I have a v-12, but I might get a new kit so I deciding which is better.

  • i like the td8 module better because it is not as complex to work with as the v 20, although the drum pads that come with the v20 are bigger and the cymbals are more realistic. i own the td8 and have had it for over 8 years and have never encountered any flaws or wear and tear. if you want the convenience of electric drums without paying over 2500 dollars, i'd get the td8. (make sure you read the manual when you get it though.. there's a LOT that you'll discover you can do with electric drums)

  • Tight.

  • whats the name of that song. Post a reply

  • It's called FUNK3 and is song No. 43 on the Roland TD-8 module.

  • fir electronic drums: is roland better or yamaha?

  • ROLAND

  • God dammit you drummer noobs a good drum kit does not make you magicly better aight? 2 years of lessons will make you better then some dude who watches videos of thomas lang crap aighhhht?

  • You play like a pro baby!!!Damn that shit was goooood!!!!!

  • not my kind of music. but awesome playing man!

  • How much did that kit cost? ... you make it seem so easy :)

  • You could get a kit like that for about a thousand bucks.

  • Come on Nicolas Barker, remove your wig, I've recognized you ;)

Very nice playing. And very nice upgraded TD8. Mine still don't have hi-hat (original pad instead).

  • Who the f@#%* is Nicolas Barker???

  • he's a death metal drummer... plays for dimmu borgir i think, i think he was saying that you play fast.

    great playing btw

  • Exactly! Fast and precise, just like Nick Barker :)

  • Who the fuck is Nick Barker?

  • Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth....some waste of talent in my opinion.

  • I just listened to Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth.

No that's some horrible shit music.

Just my opinion, don't get all exited now...

  • Capoooooo!!

  • Yup this guy's a pro

  • Jeez guy. Playing this good should be recorded with much better audio quality. Great chops. I will watch yo
