The Roush Rep said it was a Stage 3, all done to spec. Stupid me took him for his word. I didn't notice the blower pulley change. So, I now only have 2,000 miles on my new bulletproof motor. Now it's time to push some boost! Nice car btw

This thing coulda had a centrifugal supercharger and due to the fact that the kits don't typically have intercoolers, they can only run ten pounds of boost. Ten pounds of boost isn't gonna fuck up a motor unless it's shit. But, since you're so smart about superchargers and motors, can you tell me what kinda supercharger this has without even popping the hood?

@MrYukon04 Let us take a new Musang for example. Factory says to run 93 octane to run good. That means it has higher compression than the average daily driver. Higher compression can (can, not will) mess up a motor with even 10 pounds of boost. Any forced induction adds strain to the motor. Especially, of course, the pistons, connecting rods, and crank. And, I stand by what I said about the reliability. If you make anything operate above factory operating range it's not going to be as reliable.

But take a car with 10:1 compression and put 10 lbs of boost to it, it wouldn't last as long as it would've if you kept the supercharger off.

@jf84stang if you had a brain and knew anything about engines you would know that horse power was the reason it threw a rod, not pressure from the blower. if it had "to much pressure" it would just blow past the piston rings/ head gaskets and give you other problems. maybe he decided to put the blower on first and couldnt wait until he could afford to build the engine, i dont know. neither do you, so dont be a dick and talk shit

@jf84stang The 00-04 had stock Whipples. You'd know that if you knew 00-04 Mustangs. 390 horsies. But yeah, if it were a non blown high compression : 9.0:1+ AND added Whipple, Paxton, Eaton ,etc. then he should've invested the money in all the right places to permit such an upgrade. It still sux when it happens to anyone. Sometimes it's an overlooked issue, sometimes the idiot doesn't know his limits and tries to test 'em and eats shit for his audacity. High comp. + blower+st. crank = CARBOMB!

@jf84stang Most superchargers don't push a lot of boost. This thing coulda had a centrifugal supercharger and due to the fact that the kits don't typically have intercoolers, they can only run ten pounds of boost. Ten pounds of boost isn't gonna fuck up a motor unless it's shit. But, since you're so smart about superchargers and motors, can you tell me what kinda supercharger this has without even popping the hood?

People tell you all the time bottom ends rated 400-450rwhp... they can't tell you how long it last. So I'm going to correct your retarded comment. 10lbs WILL mess up your motor if it wasn't designed to take much. The same goes for any chevy or dodge motor.

@MrYukon04 Let us take a new Musang for example. Factory says to run 93 octane to run good. That means it has higher compression than the average daily driver. Higher compression can (can, not will) mess up a motor with even 10 pounds of boost. Any forced induction adds strain to the motor. Especially, of course, the pistons, connecting rods, and crank. And, I stand by what I said about the reliability. If you make anything operate above factory operating range it's not going to be as reliable.

@blindskater200 the only reason the factory charger moters will last is because of what i said as long as you stay within the factory part spec. power handling you will not lower the life of the moter. or your other comment that told someone that a manual cant shift faster then a auto is also wrong bc if the auto is slipping or sliding into gears then yes the manual can be shifted faster. you say you work at a tranny shop then you should know about slipping and sliding into gears

@MrYukon04 Also don't forget about main bearings and rod bearings. Superchargers DO add more strain to the bottom end of a motor, that's a proven fact. Now if you're talking about a car with a charger from the factory, that's different. The factory designed and built the car to handle boost. But take a car with 10:1 compression and put 10 lbs of boost to it, it wouldn't last as long as it would've if you kept the supercharger off.
