  • @xSobhan It's an aria from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. He was a French composer, but he did his darnedest to sound Spanish in this work, and did a good job of it. The story is set in Seville, Spain, around 1820, and concerns the eponymous Carmen, a beautiful gypsy with a fiery temper. Free with her love, she woos the corporal Don José, an inexperienced soldier (Wikipedia). there is a lot of other wonderful music in this opera, the famous Toreador Song for example.

  • @mattlove1 Awesome, thanks!

  • WOW! Love this.... I absolutely, LOVE the idea and the sound of these distinctly, different, ethnic instruments! BRAVO!

  • Does this have notes? Our how is it played? I want one

  • i love the chinese banjo

  • @DiamondChrome42 its not a banjo its a lute dork lol

  • @ShuyuKoukin gee you think? so kind of you to point small detail out to me, that just made my day, asshole

  • @DiamondChrome42 its not a small detail jackass. i play this instrument that you consider a fricken banjo..by far the pipa is no where near the banjo. you should be happy that someone is informing you of the correct term. the banjo and the lute is not the same thing. this is nothing different than saying that all Scottish people are just like the Irish or all Chinese are just like Japanese...anyways whatever your answer is i just want you to know that ignorance is always entertaining to watch~

  • @ShuyuKoukin it is not a lute, it is a pipa 琵琶

  • @twostorms in general it is a lute..the pipa is a just a name. such as a dizi is a flute. the pipa belongs to the string family..and it resembles/sounds like a lute the most. So to us westerners its a lute.

  • @ShuyuKoukin thank you very much for this information. I will have to do some study on the lute.

  • This is an outstanding piece of Habanera, 10/10 awesome.

When it comes to musicianship, it takes the phrase "Music is universal" to a whole new level!

  • 我巴西,并且我喜歡音樂非常

  • if i was in the crowd when it got to the real spanish bit on the Pipa i would of started rolling my tounge spanish styley.

    lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllebaa

  • watch the bongo man get down with his badself

  • A nice balance of volume between th pipa and guita. Normally, the sound of pipa is more aggressive than pipa. In this case, it's probably balanced by the amplifier.

  • what do you mean "the sound of pipa is more aggressive than pipa." Does it means the same things?

  • oh,it's a so beautiful song~

  • 弗拉门戈琵琶^o^

  • 趙聰 Zhao4 Cong1

  • @darthsion71 why you asking? you wanna google her picture? or video?

  • very beautiful music

  • Maravilloso. Soberbio. Otra vez la música china se encuentra con lo latino y, esta vez, con el sentimiento flamenco. Para tocar la PIPA con géneros que no forman parte de la cultura china...¡hay que ser muy maestro!.

  • Splendide!!!

  • Amazing!!!! I can't stop listening:-)

  • I love this song.Makes me want to learn pipa.

  • What a great and cheerful song. Makes me want to dance!

  • I'd love it if you could upload more from this performance. This song was great and Besame Mucho was especially wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to upload all these videos in the first place!

  • That was fun..
