Why couldn't the bank just amend her morgage so that she could handle the payments. They are still going to get their money but with even more interest. But no they take the house and resale it, and all the money she paid goes in their pocket. Why don't we add a clause to all contracts that stipulates the contract becomes null and void when the terms become 'difficult'. Or better yet, what if you went to sell your house and at the closing table, your current mortgator asked for a piece of the profit. It's not in your mortgage but they just want to 'amend' your mortgage when it suits them to do so.

The problem was the payments would spike, sometimes hundreds of dollars a month, after a few years. They target people that didn't know anybetter than to trust them, and then when they fall behind the bank took the house, stealing what they had already paid.
I don't recall sighning any contracts with a bank offering my tax dollars if they squandered everyones money. It makes more sense to ammend the contract, or to give the stimulus to the population, it's our money, banks are private busines
I've had an ARM and know how they work. I also know people aren't targeted by banks. Banks don't go door-to-door in appartment complexes pushing mortgages on people. People approach banks for money and in many cases ask for much more than they can really afford. Banks aren't innocent in all this, but they also aren't the villains they are being portrayed to be.

The home was already sold to another person, so this was a home invasion. ACORN jumped the shark with this action, thinking that they were going to be Obama's Street gang. Why couldn't the bank just amend her morgage so that she could handle the payments. They are still going to get their money but with even more interest. But no they take the house and resale it, and all the money she paid goes in their pocket. Why can we give bail outs to banks that foreclose on peoples houses, but not to the people who are loosing their homes?

Why don't we add a clause to all contracts that stipulates the contract becomes null and void when the terms become 'difficult'. Or better yet, what if you went to sell your house and at the closing table, your current mortgator asked for a piece of the profit. It's not in your mortgage but they just want to 'amend' your mortgage when it suits them to do so.
Are you friggin insane? A contract is a contract and if you sign, you reap the rewards and/or the consequences.

The problem was the payments would spike, sometimes hundreds of dollars a month, after a few years. They target people that didn't know anybetter than to trust them, and then when they fall behind the bank took the house, stealing what they had already paid.
I don't recall sighning any contracts with a bank offering my tax dollars if they squandered everyones money. It makes more sense to ammend the contract, or to give the stimulus to the population, it's our money, banks are private busines

I've had an ARM and know how they work. I also know people aren't targeted by banks. Banks don't go door-to-door in appartment complexes pushing mortgages on people. People approach banks for money and in many cases ask for much more than they can really afford. Banks aren't innocent in all this, but they also aren't the villains they are being portrayed to be.
You didn't sign a contract, but then again you didn't give the banks any money...your gov't did. All bailouts should be outlawed.

Well the government does not have their own money, they have OUR money. They repeadedly spend OUR money on things that aren't good for US. the houses make about $465 a day 365 days a year. BEFORE all the extras. Plus all the tons and tons of people that work in and around the governent. I'm not say it's all bad. Do you own a home? Let's try to explain it in simple terms-you sign a CONTRACT that says you will PAY the mortgage company every month. IF you do NOT PAY then you have broken the CONTRACT and the home no longer belongs to you. If her loan went up $300 in one month then she had an ARM and that's what she agreed to when she bought the home. When she defaulted the home was no longer hers and she and these ACORN losers are trespassing.

everyone pays 1% income taxes. no rebates no prebates, no nothing. in addition, they also pay a 10% flat tax on every thing purchased (except food). you get to keep more out of each paycheck, and if you choose to SPEND the money you EARNED, it's taxed there.
