The charge opened the road to Jerusalem that eventually changed history. The Arab rule of Jerusalem would come to an end. This is a magnificent history and to all my Aussie mates, this is a great film of that charge.

What was the reason for this? Why did the Aussies charge? I am ashamed of my ignorance, but atleast I recognise that. Most young Aussies have less of an idea than me!

This was the battle of Beersheba and the outcome was one of the turning points for the Allies. They were there because of the Sinai and Palestine Campaign during the Middle Eastern Theatre. The Aussies achieved what 50,000 British soldiers (with tanks) couldn't, which is why it's a big highlight.

I'm ashamed to say, I don't know anything about this. It isn't taught in our schools, probably for PC reasons.
