@ELGROOVER Ah that Ed Denson, the one Fahey warns, "Beware, Beware of Denson and his Getchells who may yet conquer the world." (Notes to The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death). I wonder if Fahey thought of him as his supervisor?
To CroatAndNettles ~ Only as a supervisor/manager of his affairs/arrangements, I should imagine? I get the impression that JF himself wasn't someone easily....ermm.....'managed'! I would guess that "Supervision" = Management = OMG! Now what!!? ☺ ;-j
We interviewed John in 1973 on a Denver "Underground" station, as they were called back then...We didn't have a 7 second delay, so Mistah Fahey's comments just about got our license revoked...Great Fun!
He's a strange fish is Mr. Fahey. I don't know a lot about him, only discovered his amazing music last year and been fascin@ed by it since. Wiki have a fair bit of info on him. I'll send you a few choice Fahey vids in a bit....
Yes, that was his first album recorded & released in '59. Reissued in '96.
After I sent you the fantastic 'Red Pony', I realised I'd made a 'John Fahey' playlist shortly after I first heard him, as I was most impressed (and still am of course), he's a treasure ; sadly he passed away in 2001.
It's still there amongst my playlists if you want to check it out, 14 choice tracks :-)
Supervision by Ed Denson? What does that mean?
