  • Did you guys ever think maybe he is following orders??? Plain and simple, it would appear that this is a training fire at an abandoned house, and just maybe his orders are to direct the hose stream over the top to try and reduce embers. As far as volunteers vs fulltime why is it that fulltime guys need to rip on the volunteers?? I've seen more the few fulltime guys charge the hose bed instead of the attack line. Have also seen fulltime crew lob water through the door way, then a volunteer crew

  • Have you ever looked through a firefighter's mask,... how quick they fog up, and how easily the water drops ruin your vision, just like glasses in the rain. Packed up, not sure why. But a better angle of attack would help. But really,.... only actual firefighters should post ANY comments. Everyone else is talking out their.....

  • yard breather in action

  • i didnt see the 'camera man' helping out..... which proves that even idiots can run a cam

  • He may be by himself. Like ffjsb said you don't know. And, yea I agree he shouldn't have his air on him. But, you still can see through the mask he has his air on.

  • so if your gonna say that a particular person who trains there ass off to save live sucks then you better hope us fire fighters don't have save your ass one day that might be pretty embarrassing

  • The worst firefighter is one who doesn't follow protocol.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • If your not a firefighter before you start attacking how a firefighter is doing his job whether paid or volunteer you should stand in our boots for a couple calls.

  • @fireman3883 They don't have the balls to that's the problem so here is my solution when people get into trouble and they have to do community service make them do their service as Fire Fighters for a while they will end up loving the job or having a whole new level of respect and fear for the ones who do it as a career.

  • I agree that his tactics where not good, however we all have done this at some point before and if you say different; you are a liar.

  • @BlacksHaveAgeneDfect not every volunteer firefighter is not intelligent, the guys at my department are smart and actually know what to do. Saying a firefighter isn't smart is like burning the American flag, we put ourselves in situations that we might not come out of and we do it because we want to help...

  • This video shows you the intelligence of the average volunteer firefighter. Most volunteers are there just to cream in their pants and feel like a hero. Just read the comments that these fools leave on videos like this.

  • He looks like a fool.. I don't give a shit if the win shifts.. In ny we'd be inside putting that out .. At least hit the damn fire... If your gonna stand outside.. And take your mask off

  • OMG aim maybe.

  • Just like a typical fireman. Worthless and retarded

  • @zakksucksdick just a worthless when your home burning or your kid stop breathing huh? piece of shit.

  • @kadychaosxx4 Look at the home burning in the video, he's really doing good job standing 30 feet away and not moving an inch. Yes, he's pretty much worthless there. Also, if he is that incompetent about that, I doubt his CPR skills are better. Coward is what he is.

  • As far as him wearing a SCBA, that is within some fire dept policies. What happens when the wind shifts and smoke is blowing his way? With that fire it would be very possible. He then would have to stop wasting water (lol) to put on PPE. In his defense I am sure he couldn't see where his water was going but the camera guy is just as guilty as he could have said something. I would have attacked it from behind but I can see what he probably didn't when he arrived on scene. Back to wear of SCBA, I

  • wow un-real and the fact that hes yard breathing makes it even better lol

  • You stupid son of a bitch... You need to immediately quit the fire service and apply for a job at taco bell. You look like a fool

  • @PAFDco1 You run 135-140psi at the pump. After friction loss it comes out to about 100psi at the nozzle. Fog nozzles operate best at 100psi.

  • first of all he doesnt need to be on air 2 he dont need back up doin that job if he was one of my guys i wouldve corrected him cuz what he was doing is a waste of time and water

  • Total yard breather, put some water in that already...jeez

  • While that firefighter isn't doing much good, there may be other factors like having FF's that are interior getting ready to attack it from the inside. Of course if that's the case he may be trying to keep down embers (yeah, he should have it on a narrow to medium fog pattern), but there's not enough info to make a solid judgement on this video. And yes, he probably doesn't need to be on air, but he's hardly the worst FF ever. Not to mention he doesn't have anyone backing him up.

  • Lmao! That's funny! We had another station dump water all over us until we radioed them and informed them that they were missing the house! It was good for a laugh after! =D

  • @brandt11cps no i am not a firefighter and i would not let someones home burn down if it wasnt needed. but if i were a firecaptain and he was talking shit to me on the job i would talk back to him and when we are done arguing ill let my firefighters do their jobs as we speak the fire gets bigger and bigger. maybe he will thin k twice about talking shit about someone who can save ur life.

  • Front lawn is watered!!! on air too?!?!

  • @PAFDco1 you obviously have no experiece pumping. Most fog nozzles, are rated for 100 psi, because of the simple fact that the more you pump to them, the more friction loss(turbulence) in the line you will have, which means less GPM at the nozzle. So if you wanna be smart and say pump more and more, you're wrong. yes this guy was wrong and should never point the nozzle or attack it the way he did, but you're obviously just as dumb.

  • Comment removed

  • and what exactly was he doin wrong?

  • that is like taking a leak on that fire with that hand line. the house was more than likely a surround and drown situation

  • Ok first he's only up against the fence cuz any closer he would be hitting the side of the building I don't think its cuz he can't handle the pressure and I also don't think he's on air looks like his mask is on but I don't see a regulator in the face piece

  • @jccrack86 I see the regulator

  • ummm yeah firefighting is hard but first this is an 13/4 hoseline with a fog nozzle so for starters it looks like a jacketed hose so the pressure cant be more than 100 because you need 60 psi to flow out of any fog nob or 100 if its a 100 psi nob. second if he has to be leaning on a fense to hold a 13/4 fog nob then hes got some physical issues. instead of leaning he could have done the pretzle and sat on it or if he had a prussics cord he could have tied it off to something or himself.

  • @getrdunlipper im almost positive that you can go beyond 100 psi for the fog nozzle. alot of departments have those on there pre connect lines. you can flow high pressure but the most you want on the hand line and be reasonable for the firefighters is 135 to 140 psi

  • lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • he is doing alot right here the structure is an obvious loss right now he is containing the fire to jus that structure spraying a straight stream above the fire alows for the water to rapidly boil basicly and drop steam which can moisten the wood and slow down burning of the structure and he should be wearing his b.a he doesnt know whats in that building its an IDLH situation if u feel unsafe wear it give him a break he works harder then those sitting here tlkin trash he has a badge for a reason

  • y the fuk is he on air?

  • at least he is making a effort instead of standing back with a video camera looking like a fool

  • That is funny.. Should of stayed on the ambulance that day..

  • for all of you idiots who have never used a firehose before its not like your garden house. It's not as easy as it looks. Also when you are in turnout gear you can't see shit through your mask!

  • @liberalinthedesertaz It's really not that hard man. I work for one of the busiest departments in the nation and have seen plenty of fire. Shouldn't be that hard to handle a hose line on your own.

  • Comment removed

  • @liberalinthedesertaz If you cant see through your mask and you cant handle the hose the get the hell out of the fire service. This kid is a disgrace.

  • @liberalinthedesertaz I'm a firefighter myself and I agree with that but honestly, this guy does suck.

  • Well maybe he should have fan is water out instead of a straight stream shooting over the fire....DUH!!!

  • Come at it from the side brother.

  • @mechiefslapahoebitch I would like to see u put on a turnout and dive into a fire thru a window with gear on trying to save a little girl trapped in a blaze with the possibility of the roof collapsing on you, the little girl, and 2 other firefighters. imagine if u were the fire captain who decided to send the boys in. how do u think u would feel if u lost all those people? i hope firefighters really do fuck around and let your house burn down.

  • @xD3MONx I seriously hope you're not a firefighter with that attitude towards allowing someone's home to burn down for no good reason. Grow up already

  • am i the only one who noticed it sounded like he was blowing his nose.

  • @caterpilar...maybe if he wasn't wearing his face piece 10 feet away from the fire building, he could HEAR the difference between a hit and a miss. There is absolutely no excuse for this guy. Anyone who tries to make a case for him has no clue what they are talking about.

  • hes not 10 ft tall, he could not see he was missing, go tell him instead of sitting there with a camera.

  • What hose puts out 1700 gallons per minute? That's like 900 lbs of pressure at the nozzle! And this dude is using a fence as a back up man...beast! Lol...schroeder you are a moron.

  • You try to direct a hose stream while wearing a full turnout with scba jackass. Why the hell didn't you walk up and let him know that he was spraying over the peak?

  • @AdamB9098

Well, all the "why don't you" grandstanding bullshit only distracts from the fact that it ***appears*** that the firefighter was doing something that wastes water without aiding in the fighting of the fire, ALTHOUGH without further context to the video, we only can make guesses either way.

  • and if you want my serious comment then i dont blame the guy at all... he was probably following orders and standing where he'd been told to

  • leave the poor fella alone. He was just trying to make a pretty rainbow :-)

  • given the angle he way at i doubt he could tell he was going straght over the house.

  • Not going on the personal attack here but I will say this guy is not breaking any thermal balance by throwing water over the house and through the vented exterior flames . I was not on this fire so I have no idea why he is exterior on air and throwing water over the house . That line would be much better used on the interior working with a truck crew as they pull walls and ceilings . NewBeverlyHillsNinja sorry to ruin your fantasy but I'm a firefighter and not gay .

  • look he might b in a department that gets very few calls so he is unexperieced. maybe the guy with the camera could do a lil less taping and a bit more coaching!!! yes i do agree this is bad but it could also b his 1st fire... every1 knows there is a big diff between the burn building and the real thing... every1 failed to ask were his back up man is and y there is no 1 back there with him!!!

  • he's splitting the insurance money 50/50 with the owner... lol

  • (Some guy 2 miles away gets sprayed with water)

    Guy: ITS A CONSPIRACY

  • he is doing that on purpose. by getting the water through the flames coming out it breaks the fires thermal balance. and how bout you step into our position put on 60 lbs of gear and try to aim a hose putting out 1700 gallons a minute. nevermind when your perfect when you have the balls to even put on the gear then come back and fucking talk shit

  • @MrEJSchroeder Im thinking you made a mistake with the 1700 gpm.

  • @johnmufc23 guestimation :)

  • @MrEJSchroeder You're an idiot! Check your post and research it. Next time check your facts before you post something. That's probably you in the video.

  • @NobodyCaresJackass I AM A FIREFIGHTER. and I do not appreciate being called and idiot it was an exaggeration. People tend to exaggerate when they see people in the same position they have been in being criticized by those that don't have the balls to it themselves. When your house is burning down call your math teachers apparently you would rather have that right than everything else i stated. DON'T REPLY BACK AND WASTE MY TIME.

  • @MrEJSchroeder WTF are you talking about? He isn't doing anything. And stop crying about how much your gear weighs. If you can't hack it, quit. You wouldn't make it through rookie school here in the DCFD.

  • well mechiefslapahobitch i hope u die in fire arsehole all he had to do was ask for a lil less pressure n aim highr to drop the water in the hole n ive never seen a felliw firefighter just stand n eatch a house burn i dare u to say that to a firefighters face knt

  • This...or they just show up to a fire and fuck around for 15 minutes before they start doing anything. Ive seen that a few times. I think firefighters are all pyromaniacs....they love to watch fire...thats why they dont want to put them out....not until theyve watched it for 1/2 an hour and gotten their rocks off.

  • @mechiefslapahobitch You're a disrespectful ass if you think that. Are you a firefighter? Maybe you've seen circumstances where they needed to figure something out before they threw themselves at the fire. You have no idea what they are doing, so shut your mouth. In this video it's obvious that he messed up because he can't see thru the mask very well. But don't you dare disrespect all firefighters as a whole.

  • @NewBeverlyHillsNinja I think they just move slow because their assholes are hurting from all the firehouse gay sex. Are you a slow mover too?

  • @mechiefslapahobitch Very witty.. Bringing up gay stuff, glad thats the first thing that comes to your head as a response.

  • @NewBeverlyHillsNinja When I think of firemen, yeah....gay is the first thing that pops into my head.

  • @mechiefslapahobitch That's generally the first thing everyone thinks of when jealousy kicks in..

  • @ffmedic401 What, that firemen are gay?

  • No matter where he aims the hose, he can't hit the fire. It's not his fault.

  • well he should prob be positioned so he can bank off the interior of the roof through that gap through the front, his position there isnt doin anything hes missing the whole structure, and he might be wearin the scba cause of company SOP's, but yea theres no point, haha

  • dont know why he or she is wearing a pack with mask on....VFF

  • Who ever posed this is the dumb one. You coulda atleast help by saying "Your not hitting any of the fire!!" Firefighter are hard working men and women who: a. Are brave enough to join. and b. Are heros trying to save lives or atleast help.

  • Haaa cute, he's in his own little world huh! =) He looks spooky standing over there with his mask and all on too!

  • does he know that the point of the hose is to put the water where the fire is right

  • omg we have one of those people in our station who is in fire school still

  • Two words. Yard Breather.

  • Tunnel Vision much?

  • fuckin rookie.........

  • this house didn't pay their fire tax, he's actually protecting the house on the other side from exposure..........anyone buy that?.........ok he's just a dumbass

  • But if he were not wearing his SCBA then we would know who that was shooting water over the flames rather than cooling the fire.

  • keeping the cars from getting hot

  • Damn. That is so embarrassing.

  • Is there something wrong with the air surrounding him that he has to use the air from his bottle?

  • The 1 3/4 aint shit a child could handle it. If he was using a 2 1/2 his fence tactic would be somewhat understandable but still pathetic. Jus sayin'

  • More like watering it on the other side of the state... Lol

  • @MegaSteven43 erg hahahahaha hehehehe erghaha hehe

  • what was he doing watering the grass on the other side of the house...he should at least had a veteran with him instead of being by himself and wasting water.

  • come to South-Africa and watch the government firefighters in action (or lack of action rather)

  • He is serving no purpose. His line would be of better use cooling the exposure. If he hits the fire from the outside with his fog stream he will push the fire into the rest of the structure. I don't know the whole story here, but it looks sloppy and uncoordinated. And I know what I'm talking about - 15 years professional FF

  • hmmmm, lets see here, idk, but have any of u who spaosted ever put an scba and mask on. also, it looked to me that he awas trying to hold back the pressure by propping himself up on the fence. firefighting is harder then it loooks, try it if u think its easy

  • @lcfr174 Moving to the "A" side of house and sitting on the ground with hose in the "loop"could have helped

  • @lcfr174 I've been a firefighter for 4 years and this is just an embarassment! I have worn SCBA and mask hundreds of times but he didnt have to. Yard Breather is right. Get him back to the fire academy

  • @lcfr174 agreed everyone gets pissed when a house cant be saved why dont you try the job instead of saying we cant do it

  • @lcfr174 my brother is a firefighter..he laughed cause this guy is dumb

  • @lcfr174

As far as i see it, and yes im a firefighter myself, there are 2 things wrong here.

    1) The presure on the water is way to high, wich ha can ajust by the handel on top of the nozzel.

    2) He could ajust the nozzel to spread out the water in a wider area. Seems to me i looks like a akron-nozzel to me and not a unifire.

(sorry if some of the terms are badly translatet, i'm from Denmark)

  • This reminds me of Anne Arundel County in Maryland

  • It most likely was a new guy with no experience

  • Common sense. Out the window.

  • ................. good job...

  • lmao

  • Nice, way to shoot the house on the other side of the one that's burning

  • Directed by M. Night Shyamalan... and Michael Bay.
