I had to show ID when I lived in Washington state. Went to California and just walked in the door and cast my vote--nobody bothered to ask me if I was entitled to vote! Voter ID is a good thing.
That's absurd. How does forcing people to prove they're actually who they say they are constitute "limit[ing] the number of low income voters"? By that logic buying alcohol, receiving food stamps, benefiting from welfare, collecting unemployment, and participating in every other serious legal action that requires you prove your eligibility are biased against the poor. Your comment is basically an admission that Democrats depend on unqualified voters committing fraud to get elected.
@tjagolf33 This bill is absurd. A photo ID means nothing - people's looks can change. A VOTER REGISTRATION CARD (OR a driver's license) should be enough to allow someone to vote in their precinct. This will be challenged and thrown out in court.
It's all about voter suppression in Texas

Jesse Jackson has added former Chicago Democrat
Congressman Mel to Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's payroll.
Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused
in President Clinton's last-minute forgiveness spree.
Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year
federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud,
and lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving
five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.

This bill is all part of the Texas GOP plan to limit the number of low income voters - who usually vote Democratic.
