Simply put, this man is a legend. There is only a handful of "perfect songs" ever recorded in pop, and he can lay claim to four: "Grandma's Hands," "Lean on Me," "Just the Two of Us," and the greatest pop song ever written, "Aint no Sunshine." His music is timeless. Long live Bill Withers!
I sure hope to see a new vinyl of Wither's soulful truths out soon...He understands there's the racism of RICH VERSUS POOR...not the crap they sell you of white versus black, etc...VOTE ALL THE REPUBLICANS OUT...SUPPORT OUR OBAMA and help Our Nation be GREAT, Again...!
@vertualsurfing I don't think supporting a political party or politician would reflect how Mr. Withers seems to think. If it truly is rich versus poor, ALL of our politicians have missed the boat....including President Obama. We can only help each other. We can only love and support one another. It's all about people. I think Withers makes that clear. Don't give in to the larger influences in life that lead to division. Help yourself and help others. If you do that enough, you can change lives
This documentary or whatever it was had to be some of the most valuable time i've spent staring at a t.v. screen in years. This dude was dropping scientifical wisdom all over the place even if he didn't want to. I appreciate that he was willing to be as transparent as he was yet I bet we still don't know the half. I imagine that this is the type of thing the deeply talented Lauren Hill will do someday.
Oh, Bill needs to come back. He's a premier singer and his song writing is legendary. Come back Bill, please, we need to hear from you. Hello like before is one of my favorite songs.
I watched this a few days ago, I think it was on IFC On Demand. Wow, talk about a man who was and still is talented. There were a couple times through the movie where he would say a sentence or two that would just blow my mind and bring me to tears. In this trailer for instance, when he talks about how you should take a good look at alright because it might be as far as you get...so true.
Is there a way, to get to this documentary (dvd)??
