Masato is awesome, but you can't deny the fact that K-1 changed rules advantageous to Masato after gettin' destroyed by Buakaw. I would have liked to see Masato and Buakaw compete with fair rules, but K-1 is just in favor of Masato. but he's amazing though.

he used to fight k-1 which has modified clinch and no elbows, but most k-1 fighters use the more effective muay thai kicks and knees, although kyokushin guys tend to have good knees as well. he has definitely had more traditional boxing training for sure, I reckon he was the best puncher in k1 max.

Buakaw was not the one that "beated him so hard" as what you call proper english, it was prior fights that caused masato to retire from all his injuries, most of the damage done on masato was done both by jadamba and krause.
