...because, you know, ideas for the government may only ever come from two parties even when one party has the continuously applied idea of cutting taxes for the wealthy.
Thank you,Mr. Broder, for you tireless, straightfaced shilling in this time of crisis.
The title was putting it pretty lightly...it hasn't worked very well at all. Sure, our economy isn't swirlling into a massive depression, with 20%+ unemployment, but we're still going downward. I think whether people like it or not, we need more stimulus (i.e. more money) targeted at the people that need it: people who are about to lose their homes because of crooked mortgages.
I'm not clear on what you're trying to say here. Is it since the first stimulus bill didn't instantaneously solve all of our problems we should give up and just watch while the economy crashes and burns in flames? Have you noticed that the new stimulus bill takes a fundamentally different approach? Why should we work together with the folks who caused this mess and continue to use their methods?
Yeah, because listening to people who have been vindicated again and again is never a good idea. Much better to listen to the folks who keep assuring you "next time we do the exact same thing, we'll get a different result."
WELL... what a surprise. we GAVE the same morons who couldn't handle their own money nearly a trillion of OUR OWN and they fucked up royal.

Both parties...is big gov't !
Big Gov't lives in 3D: Deceive, Deny, Deflect.
Where is transparency toward the public ?
How can you restore confidence in gov't when its leaders who regulate themselves obfuscate financial statements?

The power of the State is far greater than individual liberty and freedom.

The first stimulus package didn't get the results expected?
BY WHOM?
I see the results I expected; more financial foolishness. Its time we quit coddling failures and let them fall.

The first stimulus package (TARP), will, or won't, show results ~about~ the second week of March at the earliest.

First stimulus plan didn't work. Neither will this one.

The first stimulus did not work because it was stolen by Wall Street criminals.
Put in some oversight, and they won't have a chance to steal it. Deregulation does not work.

Richardgwm, He's not talking about the bailout.
He's talking about the stimulus package last year, when checks ranging from $300 to $1,200 went to people, to spur spending.
