It's a shaky harmonic balancer (the rubber portion that is wobbling). GM doesn't think it's a problem, but I'm still very concerned. I'm going to bring it to a Corvette specialist to get another opinion if it's a concern or not.
Never made it to that specialist, but I did manage to get GM to finally fix it under warranty.
UPDATE: It actually recently got WORSE than this with much more wobble. I took it back in to GM for warranty service.
After having the belts replaced *TWICE* by GM in attempt to fix my problem which really was only a bandaid fix as the problem never really fully went away, they finally admitted that it was a bad crank pulley/harmonic balancer and replaced it; now my car is running properly!
The inner portion of the balancer is rock steady ,at least it looks that way to me, the outer ring of the balancer is starting to come loose from the rubber bonding it to the crank hub. This is a recipe for DISASTER. get it fixed pronto.
I've brought it to my local GM service department and they say it's normal. I brought it to where I bought the car (Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ) and they claimed they can't do anything about it because the first service department had some higher up guy make a decision not to do anything about it. Not happy. I'm taking it to a corvette tuner who saw this video and thinks it's a problem. Maybe with his professional opinion I can get GM to take another look.
