I guess because Ben Gibbard is now happily married to the beautiful Zoe Deschanel it's perhaps kind of taken him away from his Sad Indie roots, so to speak, which we all loved and adored. Hopefully they'll go back to their roots in future albums, but yeah, it's true, codes and keys is still good quality music compared to the rubbish in this day and age.
