Engelbert, fostes e sempre serás o BEST THE WORDS !!!
Elvis was the ultimate performer , out did anyone who followed him..Bert was a 1970's karaoke queen ..he was in AWE of elvis and still is to this day ..34 years after Elvis died we are still talking about him..the power of Presley .
luvmybally, sounds like you love Engledick's ballies. By the way -- his real name is Arnold Dorsey. He just ripped that stupid name off from the Austrian composer who wrote "Hansel & Gretel." FYI, blowing this fraud after his show every night, does not constitute "working for him"... except in your twisted world.
Maybe if both Engelbert and Elvis fans did a little reading, they fed off eachother... We're great friends, and sang eachothers songs.. Elvis went to Engelbert Concerts and vice versa.. Engelbert grew the big chops then Elvis did.. I love both singers so why act like children and say one is better than the other, both made their mark in the music world...
Absolutely brilliant, there is no comparison between this version and that of Elvis's just two Great singers paying homage to the United States, does anyone know who sings the original song that Englebert uses as the first part of this trilogy, I think the song is Genesis, for the first book of the bible.
i worked for the man and i can tell you elvis couldnt shine his shoes his fan club is the largest in the world elvis used to go see him to learn how to work a vegas crowd and elvis range wasnt even half of engelberts.engelbert hits noyrs a bank couldnt cash.
@cChmanderZz let me tell you i worked for this man for over 10 years elvis used to go see him to learn how to work a veags crowd.elvis didnt have half the range this man does.and he stole the sideburns from enge not the other way around.like enge always told elvis.i can hit notes a bank cant cash 3and 1 half octaves.elvis was just a hick with a mediocre voice.and engelbert kicked his ass in a karate competion not once but three times in vegas.

@luvmybally liar Elvis had sideburns back in the 50s and even in his teens it came off when he went into the army. He Elvis started growing them back again by that time Enge n Tom Jones had them as well! Enge is a great man and a great singer. Elvis luved and respected both him and Tom Jones! :) crazy world!
No offense but I can't believe how much I hate this version. What were Tom Jones and Engelbert thinking? Does anyone notice how he starts shouting to the orchestra at the exact same part of the song that Elvis did in the Aloha Special?? Can't be coincidence. He must have memorized Elvis's performance. I hate this version and I really dislike his voice in it. He and Tom copied Elvis by singing this song and they clearly wanted to outdo him. Really bad stuff.
Engelber es tal lindo, con una voz tan privilegiada, que todas las canciones son un bálsamo al oído y a la vista, Que Dios le de muchos mas años de vida.
Enge is a wonderful singer with a fabulous career spanning over 40 years. When you talk about Superstars, it was Sinatra, Elvis, and the Beatles...They had thst extra "WOW FACTOR" By the way, Enge is a old friend of mine who has so much class & integrity he invited my wife and I to a concert in Scottsdale in 2006. He's a wonderful human whom I admire igreatly. He's a truly star, but not one of the three..
Damn can t we all just get along ? lol ok Elvis put the Trilogy together. Engle, ( Jerry ) took it as his own. Big damn deal. He s an entertainer and a good one. Why do people want to say such terrible caustic comments? Could it be insecurity on they re part? mmm I think it is.
starr522, Elvis's version is probably the best, and the best known, but it was the late Mickey Newbury who put it together. Check him out on YT. I think you'll like him.
@starr522 Incorrect; the trilogy was first written and performed by the late Mickey Newbury. More than five hundred artists have recorded the songs he wrote.
Enge is the best singer in the world. He sings this with great passion and meaning. Whatever anyone else says Enge is the best. Always has been the best and always will be the best.
Tom Jones, PJ Proby, Elvis have nothing on Enge. So accept it and move on. Enge is the man and a gentleman too. And \I am very proud to be a true fan of Enge's for the past 42 years. And no he
s not an American. He's British. So what. He's still the best singer there ever will be.
At first I gave a five stars til he went into American Trilogy...I'm sorry but he and Tom Jones cannot do American Trilogy...that is strictly Elvis' song...HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO DOES THAT SONG JUSTICE!
Engelbert at the early 80's was much better than in the late 60's. A better singer, a bigger artist, a more experienced showman...nobody like this Enge.
HAHAHAAAA......Your nothing but a fat cocksucker in disguise!!! A fucking wannabe!! You were dropped on your head at birth and its no wonder! When the doctor saw how fucked up you were he thought your mother had taken a shit!!!. You fucking wish you had a fraction of Engelbert's talent. Kill yourself!
What a powerful voice and performance. He truly stands in a class all by himself. The emotion, the feeling from his heart and soul comes through. Just love, love this man . Elvis would have been proud ! Both of them very very special. You wont see the likes of them again. And Engelbert still belting them out today. Just the best.
well i am an elvis fan and i know that elvis would probably not appreciate all the criticism of his friend engelbert.who cares who sang it better. engelbert probably meant it as a tribute to elvis anyway
These other guys were only going through the motions. Their heart and soul wasn't really in it. I mean Elvis sang it like he really MEANT it. Elvis sang this song best no doubt about it.
honestly, i had heard of engelbert humperdink, thought he was a fictional person...come on, the name is crazy in itself...i will be wikipedian him to know more, but even without that, he could never top elvis in this song..nobody could, but its not bad...style, good looks, body and fashion, but nobody should ever try to do an elvis song with their own style...its like trying to impersonate the pope!!!!
Eh is more of the Tom Jones type of singer. If anyone knows music, they can hear the difference in styles. Call me crazy, but I am a fan of Engelbert and Elvis. They both have giVen so much to the world of music. KEEP GOING ENGELBERT AND THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, ELVIS!!!!!
I have been an Elvis fan since the fifties when he truly was the pioneer of rock & roll, there can never be another Elvis, he was a great entertainer and showman. In the late sixties along came Englebert, you cannot even compare these two great talents, Elvis and Englebert are so dfferent, Elvis had the flambouyant rock and roll style we all loved, Engelbert 's is more intimate, romanic and has more depth and feeling . Elvis was wonderfull, Engelbert is magnificent and still going strong.
also, Mr Sinatra happened to steal "Strangers in the Night" from Engelbert, true story.. The law is you can record ANY song and the publishers have to let you, it's called a mechanical license.. People sing eachothers songs all the time, so stop hatin. Watch your language too!!
I think both Elvis and Engelbert would have a laugh that you people are arguing.. They were good friends and went to eachothers concerts.. Jealousy is the true emotion to all these Engelbert haters.. All that matters to me is they're both excellent, i like them both very much, and are not ashamed to sing and show publicly their love for God.. But...If you think Engelbert is a copycat for singing songs that weren't written by Elvis, the king sang Engelberts hits in concert many times.
Engelbert is the most caring, sensitive man I have ever known. He sings from his heart and gives so much of himself to his fans. I cannot believe some of these comments. They should be removed.
His emotion showed in this video and so many other songs. You obviously know nothing about him or his music.
Quite right Eno, who needs anyone elses opinion when you clearly know it all!!! Remove all others NOW!!! If you think this guy is the most caring, sensitive man you have ever known, you really do need to get out more, that is very sad. Crumpledick is a good artist but should steer clear of songs already covered by Presley and Elvis' wardrobe too! What was going on there? By the way is the Eno you buy in a bottle also a laxative? Don't reckon it would work as well as you do in that department!!!
rey, Coming from an obvious expert in the arts like yourself, that cuts me deeply!!! However I know enough that I won't be visiting 'Engies', Engies, lol you idiot. give me a break!! Do you know the birth name of your conceited hero? Arnold George Dorsey, he took the name EB from a German composer. So you see I know more about art and I dare say many other things than someone who worhips 'Engie', thanks for the laugh you imbecile.
we can not go down to your level man! your trying to raise issue you youself dont know!look yourself at the mirror and flush yourself in the toiletbowl!!!Get out of this site!
rey, What a wonderful grasp of the English language you have for a cretin, MAN. Who is we? Or is that just a further bastadization of English on your part? As far as reaching my level, well as long as I'm not on yours I'm happy!!! Now settle go and have a lie down and a listen to Engie!!!! You are a tool.
Is this the best you can bring to the table? I might be crazy but you seem obsessed with toiletbowls, hardly suprising really. Anyway MAN you are borning me now so I won't be responding any further to your bullshit. Merry Christmas.
They gave you 4 thumbs down for that brilliant observation mate, I gave you a thumbs up. No sense of humour these people. I thought it was really good.
Elvis was good but Eng takes the top prize. No one has or will ever have the range, tone and just place fabulous voice that EH has. One great looking man too.
Apart from the BEST voice on this planet our Guy is:- Handsome, Cute, Pretty, Sexy, Romantic, Loving, Gorgeous, etc. Our guy is also Intelligent, Smart, Courteous, Gallant, Respectful, Decent, Sympathetic, Humouristic, etc. Most importantly is that Engelbert can HEAL you, inspire you, calm you, give you courage enz. Whenever I feel a bit down I Just listen and or look at this SPLENDOUR of a guy and then know that God is still with me.
Engelbert gives us hope... he's just ONE TRUE GENTLEMAN!!

(1) You probably refer to what EH says in his book on page 185. Only that you're taking things totally out of context. Read the 2-nd part of his statement more carefully: I never acted as I really believed I was the King of Romance. I never took the role too seriously, even though that was what I was now being called. THE ONLY TIME I WAS SERIOUS ON STAGE WAS WHEN I WAS SINGING A SINCERE BALLAD, THEN I WOULD ALLOW MY OWN TRUE INNER FEELINGS TO SHINE THROUGH (capitals mine).
(2) ... But, since EH is a BALLAD singer by excellence, I think he simply DIDNT have too many occasions not to be sincere... Have a closer look at his facial expression and gestures (and then the passion he puts in all of his songs)! Wow, a person's eyes and hands NEVER lie, did you know that?! So, if this is not a sincere man, I dont know who is. In fact, my guess is that he has always been more sincere and serious than ANY one of us could EVER imagine Just read the book.
mysteryman6666: Now, do you REALLY believe what you're saying (i.e. "Humpy doesn't take himself too seriously")? Well, "UHHH?", if the AMERICAN TRILOGY is not powerful enough for you, maybe you'd have a look at LOVE IS ALL and so many other EH trademark songs over the years. Honest, didn't you ever consider the possibility of your comment being totally unfair or even ill-willed? I, for instance, feel that, when he sings, he IS giving his EVERYTHING. And I guess I'm not the only one in the club!
Enge has both a nice voice and appearance, his repertoire is much more than good, his manners are beyond all expectations. If someone doesn't understand his singing then why to come to his sights? Stay apart from this page. Here are the people who appreciate good music, good singing and without any exaggeration - the GOOD SINGER who is ENGELBERT.
(1) I certainly agree with you!!! Why, on earth, those who don't like Engelbert, don't FINALLY learn to write/type somebody else's name after logging in to the YouTube?! For instance, I like very much Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and many others but, since Engelbert is my absolute favourite, I NEVER go to EP's or TJ's site to make comparisons, let alone negative comments. Among CIVILIZED people, silence is golden, you know.I think it's a question of commonsense, after all.
im a big fan of presley and think humperdinck is a great singer at 71 his voice is 100 percent why do people slag entainers off i believe there just jelouse i saw humperdink last year it was a great show if these people got on with there own life instead of putting people down the world would be a better place if u dont like this man dont come to these pages in 1st place
i only think that engelbert is an imitator of Elvis!!
Why he sing the triology!!
I`M A BIG ELVIS FAN WHY DID ELVIS SING RELEASE ME IS HE AN IMITATOR OF ENGELBERT,ALSO THE GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME BY TOM JONES SWEET CAROLINE BY NEIL DIAMOND AND THERES LOADS MORE.THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WRITE BECAUSE IT ONLY MAKES PEOPLE SHOUT AT YOU HAHA XXX
This is a 5-star comment, thank you! Engelbert is unique, no matter what he sings. And, when he sings a song that originally "belonged" to someone else, one may rest assured that he does it HIS WAY. This doesn't stop me to love Elvis, Tom, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Queen, ABBA and all the rest. I actually have an endless list of favourites (please visit my channel). BUT Engelbert will always be my #1...
Lord have mercy on you! If it comes to that, wasn't Tom Jones, too, an "imitator" of Elvis (and Elvis, of MANY others?)? It's an outrageous stereotype: people never stop comparing EP, TJ and EH! I'm a Romanian and, as a rule, I've had a limited access to international music for many decades. But I NEVER stopped loving EH. AND a LOT of other Romanians love EH more than EP or TJ, because he is more European. But, of course, "red-necks" like us can't compete with you, "arians"...
how rude can you be so you don't like engelbert humperdink grow up he's got millions of fan that love and adore him do you. no did't think so are you making millions because you got fans so shut up and come back on youtube when you can get alittle bit more class . intil then i 'am sure none of fans want to here what you got to say.
I think this is hilarious. I was reading the posts on Engelbert's version of My Way.. Folks, the song is Paul Anka's, he wrote it..You can't compare Elvis and Engelbert..I love both of them and they were great friends. I love this rendition of the trilogy very much, and love elvis' version as well.. I respect Engelbert more because he took care of himself and keeps on going..Elvis is not here but remains in our hearts, but engelbert's here doing his thing for us to see. Go see him live!
i love this entertainer

honestly, i had heard of engelbert humperdink, thought he was a fictional person...come on, the name is crazy in itself...i will be wikipedian him to know more, but even without that, he could never top elvis in this song..nobody could, but its not bad...style, good looks, body and fashion, but nobody should ever try to do an elvis song with their own style...its like trying to impersonate the pope!!!!

Watch your language too!!
fontaine32 2 years ago

You obviously know nothing about him or his music.
enogood 3 years ago 2
Quite right Eno, who needs anyone elses opinion when you clearly know it all!!! Remove all others NOW!!! If you think this guy is the most caring, sensitive man you have ever known, you really do need to get out more, that is very sad. Crumpledick is a good artist but should steer clear of songs already covered by Presley and Elvis' wardrobe too! What was going on there? By the way is the Eno you buy in a bottle also a laxative? Don't reckon it would work as well as you do in that department!!!

Whenever I feel a bit down I Just listen and or look at this SPLENDOUR of a guy and then know that God is still with me.

mysteryman6666,
(1) You probably refer to what EH says in his book on page 185.
AugustaRomania 3 years ago
mysteryman6666,
AugustaRomania 3 years ago 4
AugustaRomania,
Powerful comment! I totally agree and bravo!
bibichloe 3 years ago 3
mysteryman6666: Now, do you REALLY believe what you're saying (i.e.

About mysteryman6666 & alexlxcech
Enge has both a nice voice and appearance, his repertoire is much more than good, his manners are beyond all expectations. If someone doesn't understand his singing then why to come to his sights? Stay apart from this page. Here are the people who appreciate good music, good singing and without any exaggeration - the GOOD SINGER who is ENGELBERT.
elela84 3 years ago 2
elela84,
(1) I certainly agree with you!!! Among CIVILIZED people, silence is golden, you know.I think it's a question of commonsense, after all.

chrishola61,
This is a 5-star comment, thank you! BUT Engelbert will always be my #1...

alexlxcech 3 years ago
alexlxcech,
Lord have mercy on you!

Who are these people who come on here and try

love to suffer. With all the stuff that's on youtube, surely they can find something that
