  • holy shit he can jump high as hell

  • This is impressive.

  • dockett is a monster tackle. Compare him to other players who are the same weight but have massive stomachs and are not very fast, this guy is jacked.

  • dang strong

  • d is a beast, one of the very best dl in the nfl, hope hes always a cardinal!! go az cardinals in 2010, nfc west champs, and need 2 make another run at the bowl!

  • BEAST!!!!!!

  • Its a combination of offseason workouts.

  • Is this an actual workout or he's just getting loose/pumped before the game?

  • I thought he shoulda been squatting more weight, i think he was squatting close to 360, the weight was 315 + the chains. Close to 360. The clean & jerk was the most impressive thing i think i saw. That and jumping way up there. The most i've ever cleaned like that was 135 but i never tried anything more with that. Power clean is a different story, I power clean 205 max. Squat 315 max, and bench 205 max. I'll be a junior in HS and i play DE/OLB. I'm 5'10 170.

  • I think you asking why wasnt he going below parallel. You are right going deeper will work the full range of motion. Many times with these guys have various issues such as a tweaked knee, tight back, tight hips that don't allow them to go past parallel. But in Docks case in this video I was having him do heavy weight top 1/4 squats. We do heavy low 1/4 squats to help the hips and glutes. With the split squats I was working on the same theory. For 1 leg power.

  • why wasnt he going lower on his back on split squats?

if he is going to have that much of a lower back strain shoudlnt he lower weight to get a full range of motion?..just wondering.

  • He strong ass fuck lmao

  • man how u get fat every time i saw u around the yard u was naver eating fried foods or anything

  • how much weigh do the chains add in the squat

and do u know what with a low backstrain

  • @chuyuy10 With the chains fully off the ground they add an additional 44lbs. As far as lower back strain, it may be a little too aggressive if you do not already have a solid quality squat form. Be sure to concentrate on building your core strength and lower back strain will be minimal.

  • Well it really depneds on who I am working with what level of Athlete. But normally with my pro and college guys I do legs and shoulders on Monday's, Tuesday Chest & Back, Wednesday Pool Workout for recovery, Thursday Explosion work, Friday Total Body concentration on core, balance, and Joint integrity.

  • AD, great video. How do you spilt your weight lifting routine in the off season?

  • AD how can i get my bench press up

  • @MrSappDaddy You one of the most overlooked things in training to get a big bench is your triceps. I do a lot of tricep work when I want to increase someones bench press.

  • AD...how can i get my bench up

  • Thats Wassup!! Love Dockett Man. Lets get porter and foote sign now

  • dangg! yall know my cousin got skiils! lls.

    look at chu big cousin!

    <3!

  • dockett can leap holy shit!

  • would you have any tips on how to make your box jumps better i can only jump up just past my elbow,i'm 5-10,87kg 19yrs old

  • Hey to improve your explosiveness you really need to develop your leg strength. Squats & Lunges really work the best. Also doing a lot of box jumps, and split jumps will help over all.

  • Boi, that's hard work!

  • i compare him to a lion

  • this dude is ridic..a beast

  • Hi there, just one thought on those shoulder presses.

I was always teached, stop at 90°, because if you go under 90° you´ll bruise your rotator cuff in the long run.

    So, what´s your opinion?

    Greets, Ben

  • Hey Ben, 90 degree is standard for most to prevent shoulder injury. But Dock has been lifting for a while and he perfers to go past 90 degree.

  • Can you please tell me the best leg workouts for linemen? I really wanna have a good football season this year and I want to know what workouts and how I should go about doing them. thanks

  • I find it funny that people on here at trash talking about how the pro bowl DLineman Darnell Dockett is lifting..Are you serious? A average everyday joe talking about a pro bowl football player...I have now seen it all.

  • @FartNFood Darnell Dockett is a PRO football player, not a PROFESSIONAL strongman or weightlifter!! Watch Zydrunas Savickas or Brian Shaw lift......oh thats right....you probably dont know who those BEASTS are do you?

  • this is really good and motivating how often do u do the exsplosive workouts

  • Well it depends on how close to the season it is. The closer it gets the more days they will hit a variety of explosion and speed work. In the beginning phase we do a lot of strength work for a good foundation.

  • Wow I never would have though DD could jump that high lol. The guy is a beast and obviously works out very hard. Its not surprising that he can bust out 3 sacks in any given game.

  • Comment removed

  • Well it depends on how many days a week we are training. We do a 5 day split with 3 to 4 days of lifting so the closer we ge to the season we do 2 days of explosion work. Check out my other workouts to see some field work that we do.

  • so motivating!

  • Thanks Dock would appreciate it.

  • Darnell Dockett is a beast and he is very underrated at his position

  • @Ns205 agreed

  • Depends how tall u already are but usally your growth is done after u start working out on a consistant basis. Linemen workout generally should be anything that will build explosion and to bulk up as much as possible.

  • Hey if u just turned sixteen does doing squats effect your growth should i do squats and what kind of workout is best for linemen

    thanks

  • The high box jumps was nice, I'am watching the preason game against the chargers and he is a monster made me wish I was playing college ball again. I actually want to be more explosive like him-any tips.

  • Well we do a lot of box jumps, squats, hang cleans, and power cleans. Any of those explosive movements will help you with explosion.

  • Ok, where can I get those bands they was yousing towards the end?

  • those aint squats

  • Your right! They are heavy 1/4 squats working on top in explosion. Thanks for your observation.

  • ok what do you call those piss ass bulgarian squats you have him doing? "light 3/8 bulgariann squats working nothing" ?

  • LOL, That's funny what would you prefer him to use 100lb DBs in both hands take his knee all the way to the ground to develop the whole quad Right! That sounds like a body builder exercise, last time I checked you don't play any sport from one knee all the way on the ground, unless it is the sport of well ..... YOU KNOW! Look at his performance the last 3 years something is working.

  • any good strength coach should know weight training isnt specific, doing quarter squats isnt "specific" to any sport. You lift to strengthen the muscle involoved, you don't lift to mimic everything you do. his performance has little to do with his training. he would be doing just as well without your quarter squats. show me someone you've trained who WASN't already a freak and in the nfl that you've developed significantly, and i might listen to what you have to say.

  • Alrigt I am not going back and forth about philosophies. Productivity speaks for its self non freaks, Brian Westbrook , Ray Rice, Visante Shiancoe, Chester Taylor, Byron Westbrook. But thats alright I am glad you are checking out my sight. Send me some suggestions.

  • lol yeah send me westbrook or rice or anyone already in the nfl, any training will work. you are doing very well, training professional athletes. thats my dream. in terms of developing athletes though, i don't agree with quater squats.

  • You know what we got off on the wrong foot from the beginning. Because I don't believe in it when I train my high school or college kids either. Full range of motion is a staple to stick by. Thanks for the comments though its always good to have to defend your philosophy every once in a while.

  • dockett is a beast. he plays like a warrior on the field
