Okay people, it's obviously sexist! She's investing practically all her time in pleasing and winning the acceptance of her husband. Also, Pappa Eddy is slightly patronizing, and the woman is portrayed in a way that makes her seem simple and unintelligent (or unwilling to use her mind).
