I had a dream last year that Courtney Love was sitting on my lap and we were making out and she started to pee. But I didn't care. I kept making out with her. No joke. Highly symbolic. I later realized it had to do with this song.
@TheDamianastro Wow, you're an idiot. Even a Kurt Cobain autobiographer said Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson wrote the songs. Why can't you accept that a powerful woman wrote amazing songs? Asshole.
i think kurt wrote this cd. it sounds like his lyrics and he was such a genuinely nice person that he could give an album away and no 1 would ever know.
courtney love is 1 of my favorite singers. it's bad when she is trashy because she can be nice and is a talented singer and actress.
@benjie414 nope men kurt gave old age to courtne and helped a little on the vocals of some songs but the versions with kurt are not on the record but can be found here on youtube
asking for i t is one of them
courtney leaved all colaboration with kurt behind because she knew that people would think she was using kurts stuf and she didnt wanted that
@benjie414 I have to disagree, and here is why. Read Courtney Love's diaries. A lot of her lyrics had their beginnings here. She used a lot of them in her songs, like "Rose white, rose red" (which appears in a couple songs) and there are other first drafts of songs like "Doll Parts" written way before she met Kurt. And a lot of them were started when she was in reform school as a teenager and when she was traveling the world, before forming Hole. This is late 70s, early 80s.
@benjie414 I doesn't sound like his lyrical style at all- compare "doll steak, test meat, look on the bright side is suicide/ lost eyesight I'm on you're side" to "you can try to suck my dry, but there's nothing left to suck, just you try to suck me dry, c'mon try to shut me up." Kurt had incredible respect for Courtney's intelligence and talent, even if you do not. and she has enough belief in her own that she wouldn't think someone else needs to write her songs for her.
@Liquidskeleton I think it might be a reference to sexual abuse of a young girl. I always thought it was a confession to children's services or something. "If I tell you everything, I hope you wont tell on me" is what makes me almost for certain of this. I think it might have something to do with her childhood, the reference to "Pee Girl" because she was called that as a little girl. I dont know if she was sexually abused in her childhood, but it might be autobiographical.
@MechanicalWood haha yeah its on there cause i was already on the Live Through This page on wikipedia when i read your comment and i checked the track listings and it said Kurt sang on both Asking For It and Softer, Softest... whether or not thats where you read it is a mystery... haha
@davedorger remember she was pregnant when she wrote a lot of the songs, i think that's why she talks so much about milk on this track, mother's milk and all that
@davedorger Yea I met her after the Jonathan Ross show and performance :D wasnt actually filmed on a Friday night, was like on a wednesday morning or something :S takes away all its sentiment but hey, was amazing! You're SO lucky! i mean the fact that you were conscious during the early 90's! i was born 1992 -_- i discovered Live Through This and Hole like when I was 12 and missed ALL the hype and touring :/
@davedorger LOL that cracked me up :') Its one of my favourite songs on this album but I too have no idea what its about. She references milk on the album so much.. and i dont even like milk :S. i always look at the associations - childhood, having a baby, innocence and the fact its mild and neutralising
if i ever meet her again im SO asking her, not sure if i ever will have that chance again though
@davedorger its all about inspiration dude, don't read between the lines, I don't know what the songs about,I always interpret and relate songs to my own personal experiences, inspiration and influence dude.
This is Holes best album and my personnal favorite but, celbrity skin was much more successful in sales and overall commercially, Cortney needs to find her inspiration again,
wow. i have what i can only assume is a live version of this song and it is totally different. definitely angrier and more 'grunge' sounding. this version is still wonderful of course. this whole album is great
also in the other version she sings: "Burn the witch. The witch is dead. BURN THE BITCH JUST BRING ME BACK HER HEAD" and it's pretty awesome
This album was released a week after Kurt Cobain killed himself and 4 days after they found his body... good song. underrated album. R.I.P. Kurt Cobain.
@DirtyLittlePsycho How is the album "underrated"? It is often called Hole's best album. It has sold more than 3.6 million copies worldwide. It was given extremely good reviews.. This album is in no way "underrated".
@MrScheuermann11 I'm pretty sure that they know that...they just don't see it as underrated because it's one of their most popular albums. It probably is their most popular album. But I can see why you'd say it's underrated, very few people that I know have heard of it. Actually...I only know one person who actually likes Hole. Sad.

'your milk turns to cream, your milk makes me cry.'
is this a semen reference? also 'your milk has a dick'.
doesn't really make any sense, but if you werer c-love it may.
