@ThePaxkivimae As a linux user who actually uses it for its proper use (programming, sysadmin, etc) I would point out that "linux is hard to use" is very dependant on a *LOT* of things. Your distribution of linux, your machine, your particular outlook on computers. And macs *DO* code better (though i am loathe to admit it), because both mac and linux have one thing that windows doesn't: POSIX compliance, and a terminal that actually functions in a sane manner.

neither is better than the other. its all a matter of preference. Mac's are far more stable and do the tasks they are made for, while PC's are more customizable but also less stable because of this. Then there is also the whole virus issue, which i believe is a part of the whole stability. Neither computer has a function that the other can't do. and when it comes to operating systems you can install either in either kind of computer, so that doesnt even matter, since you could dual boot each.

If you think no one cares then why did I buy a MacBook Pro, put WinXP, Win7, Win Server 2008 and Ubuntu 10.10 all on Parallels. OH that's so I can have the best of all three worlds. You don't see a PC running OS 10.6 without special modifications, BUT you can see a Mac run OS X, Linux AND Windows, with NO modifications :)

Thats because Apple made it difficult to run OSX on non-apple machines. Only Macs can do it easily because Apple wanted to make you buy their machines to run their OS. Its not because Macs are better, its because Apple made them differently to sell more of their product, which is what they do with most of their products (see: battery replacement on iPods, iPads, ect)

@HappyGestapo Ummm no, the hardware in a mac is far superior. I use them both. The casing of a macbook pro is aircraft aluminum and the battery lasts 8.5 hours. The desktops are a lot more intuitive- the keyboard is sturdier, and if you want to work on it all you have to do is tuen a key and fold out.

I have never had a single tech-support issue on a Windows machine.I chalk this up to the fact that I am actually able to comprehend mild complexity and figure out what is needed of the user (mostly patience) to not fail at computers. I've also never had truly malignant viruses, because there's something called McAfee that even Mac users should get because when malignant viruses actually get into Macs, they mess shit up big time. Also, don't macs typically cost $500-$1000 more than PCs?More bang?
