@Mxsmanic - amazing isnt it? this is one of a few snakes found climbing the rough edges of our outer wall. The last one was a couple weeks ago... a hatchling (baby) Grey Rat snake. Currently we're feeding it until next spring. Ive never seen one full grown but have seen countless baby grey rat snakes. I took a video but wasnt as interesting as this one. Still not sure what they're looking for on the wall. Thanks for asking.
Yellow rat snakes are one of the most aggressive rat snakes out there, it would not hesitate to bite your kids, I used to have them as pets, they def have a temper. Its not poisonous though, but one that size would def leave you bleeding. I just hope you know what snakes not to touch and to educate your children on them so as not to have a life threatening accident. Snakes are to be respected, please do not encourage them to pick up snakes in the wild, takes experience and studying.
awww why don't you get them a corn snake? i have one named penny. shes so cute. she'll get into that strike position but still let you pick her up. once shes out of her cage she will curl what i am assuming to be her tail around your finger.
at times especially with rat snakes and watersnakes, the teeth can release into the skin. not that the snake is ejecting them, but yes they do shed regularly as do fangs on venomous snakes
there freakin teeth don't eject from there mouth dude god the snake just wants you to leave him alone he cant hurt you and if you have ever been bit by a snake you would know it dosnt hurt that bad and ya mabey there teeth get stuck if you freakin rip the snake off witch by the way is a total DA move
@crimsonreptiles123 To a little kid, yes it would hurt that bad. Also, he wasn't saying their "teeth eject" what happens it the teeth can break off in your skin even if you don't "rip" them off of you.
@snake10566 well ya to a little kid it would im sorry for being so mean but i have been bitten by my snakes many times and a big pine snake that hurt pine snakes are mean nasty bite tear your skin off but i have never had there teeth come of i always pour alcohol free mouth wash (not harmful most care takers use it) or run it under water sorry bout my atitube
@eyesoverskies - it is. specially my daughter who always acts brave about these things, when her brother goes to touch it. classic little girl reaction. they're awesome kids!
