they have been my favorite current band for months now, i don't see much on the horizon matching it - as far as bands go, a horribly overdone medium of art/music

they have a listless lazy slow patient demeanor in their music that becomes meditative and soothing - i can't see any of these guys up for thrash metal, all the more reason some quiet peaceful music making guys make it into the mix - 4/4 time be damned

I personally love Hopelandic, or Vonlenska. It allows me to focus less on the words (not that I can understand Icelandic in the first place) and more on the music, and how the words are sung. The beauty of Sigur Ros is that they don't need words and the meaning of words to convey an emotion - they already have the music to do that. Don't get me wrong, I adore words and poetry, but this - it's open to any interpretation, and that's the beauty of it.

I think that's what this video's about. Their language is simply music which, like the angels in the video, do not toil or labor. They express.

Just a note to potential SR fans - The band has repeatedly stated that their music means absolutely NOTHING. It is sung in a non-language using the human voice as an instrument - There is no literal meaning to their music - It is done only to invoke a mood or feeling as it has done here to the producer of this video. When sigur ros commissioned this vid they knew that we humans are not yet capable of seeing past race, colour, creed or anything else that sets someone "apart" from the "normal", so I think it is intentionally provocative, but in a positive way.
