  • now if i can only find a store that has Black bean paste, no asian grocery stores of any kind around here, maybe i should start by asking a japanese/chinese restaurant if they know where they get theirs? :D

  • Thank you Castaway on the Moon(김씨표류기) For introducing me to this deliciousness! And to you for inspiring me to make it. 감사합니다! Making it for my family this week.

  • I never thought I could fall in love with a meal, till I met this one lol. I'm going to try this!!! I learned to make the black bean paste, a Haitian woman showed me how and I got addicted to it.

  • I'm already a subscriber, but I think I love this video. I can't wait to make this one day, I just need all the ingredients. I like your placement of text over your speech so we can understand, but I knew you said, pour into the "Pan" when you may have said "fan". anyways, hope your still putting out videos..

  • @TheLivingDeadOne Haha, sorry for my poor English pronunciation :P

And hope you like the recipe. Thank you so much!

  • I eat it once in a korean restaurant and it taste like heaven!!! I know that it's common that the jajang sauce is really liquidity, but how does you make it so the jajang sauce would be a really thicker than the original?? I love eating this with kimchi and boil eggs. :)

  • @LoverGothicGaaraKai If you wanna make the sauce more liquid, you can simply add more water :) I just like eating Jajangmyeon with thick sauce. Thank you :)

  • @LoverGothicGaaraKai Add cornstarch or potato starch mixed in a little water to thicken. She shows you in the video.

  • yum! my husband loves black bean sauce. I should make this for him one day. I have black bean and garlic sauce, will this work too?

  • @DraoiSidhe Thank you :)

I'm sorry, I don't know exactly what you mean 'black bean and garlic sauce'.

Black bean paste is the most important ingredient for making this dish. So if the sauce you have isn't paste, you can get it in Asian grocery store. In addition, you might be able to fine pre-made Jajangmyeon sauce as well :)

  • So Cute! I love this dish!

I wish my wife was Korean..

  • umm can i use instant noodles instead?? Great video by the way!! im a fan of every korean thing especially korean music and food!!<3

  • @mathletics09 Sorry please don't use instant noodles. Instant noodles are easily cut because instant noodles have less chewy texture than this thick white noodles :)

  • @eunblue3 Thank you:)

  • Hey dear... just wondering if u have the time and if u don't mind... need to ask u something... how can I make it spicy ( like really hot) without spoiling the taste too much? and is beef or chicken a better replacement for pork (for this meal) ? =)

  • @lovetterose Hello:-) You can add chopped chilli or chilli oil for spiciness. But not chilli paste as it's salty as well. For substitution of pork, you can use chicken. I think beef is quite tough, so Iprefer chicken ;-)

Actually I made Jajangmyeon with chilli and chicken the other day, it was so good! Try it :-D

  • @KFoodAddict Thanks so much for telling me Chloe...I was just thinking of chilli paste... don't wanna spoil the taste! Gonna try it when I have the time. God bless u! :D

  • For the starch requirement--can i use another thickening agent like rice flour/powder? Thank you for this wonderful video!

  • @pyroprince78 Yes, you can use corn flour, wheat flour or rice flour as well. But starch powder and corn flour are used more than rice one :-) And when you substitute cornstarch(flour) for wheat flour, use half as much as called for in your recipe.

  • hey chloee, im wondering where do you live now? are you living in the States?

  • i have blackbean paste resting in the fridge for quite a while,i was just too scared to use it and mess the dish up.lol but i really want to try jajangmyeon so i think i'll finally try making this!

  • You know what Chloe, I have always wondered why this noodle has got black color... ahhhh... so it's because of the black bean paste...kkk I gotta go to Manila to buy that...T.T

  • @redarrow85 yeah, as soon as I added the black bean paste, all ingredients turned black:-P Have a safe trip to Manila. (sometimes, I miss Manila coz I always had delicious mango when I was studying there;-D I think Philippine mango and pineapple are the best in the world! )

  • @KFoodAddict

yeah...^^ If only I could buy you those... Thanks Chloe^^

  • speechless... just drooling...T.T waaaaaaaah! I can hear my stomach saying something because of this videoooo!...T.T

i've only been making it using instant jajangmyeon noodle packets..so tyvm :)

  • @BaboCookieMonster Thank you. I also used to have instant Jajangmyeon before, but it was always not enough for me who is a big eater :-P Now, I can enjoy it at home as much as I want haha.

  • Yay! I've been meaning to try this for a long time. Now I have a good recipe! What kind of noodles are those by the way?

  • @annapeipe Thanks:-) Use thick white noodles like Japanese Udon noodles which has chewy texture. Yesterday, I just tried Jajangmyeon with pasta noodles by curiosity. And it wasn't good haha:-P
