@thegoodhen When it's filmed originally, after he gets hit, he goes and runs under the car. Then the camera is removed from the tripod and the rest of the scene is played out.

It's one shot since you only need a few frames of him getting hit and it's moved off screen with the car.

So, he pretends to be hit by the car, then runs over to get under the car WITHOUT STOPPING THE SHOT. then the camera is ripped off the tripod, runs over and films the rest of the shot. Later on, he cuts out the section where you see the guy getting hit, running over to the car. Hope that makes sense.
