  • Truth is shown "nothin but death can keep me from it!" Such an awesome movie and similar feeling like Precious when I watched it but more historical.

The acting presented on this film is so good, it feels real it breaks my heart and makes me cry!

    Love this movie!

  • I am crying like some stole ALL my high heels....

  • If the kids had been living with english speaking pastor and wife and nettie all these years, why dont the know english?

  • This movie was funny

  • This movie was funny

  • I wanna cry is so touching.

  • Outstanding performance in this by whoopi! :)

  • what unsung acting legend is whoopi goldberg as she said i maybe ugly but i m here thank you whoopi

  • i watched this movie in my english class recently and my class' desks are like a square with one side not there and two rows for each side and the back row of one of those sides are me and my friends... practically all of us were crying at this scene... and the sad thing is .. i was BAWLING while everyone was just like "sniff sniff"... i went to the bathroom afterwards and my eyeliner were MESSED UP -_-; .. now everyone's like "aww dont cry" everyday LOL

  • I'm a bitter cynical white heterosexual male with a really crude and sarcastic sense of humor. And this film touched me deeply. Man I didn't know Danny Glover and Whoopie Goldberg had it in them. I was 14 when this film came out and just saw it about a month ago. Amidst the goofiness of the 80's great things were made.

  • omg.. I am crying..

  • tears falln and nose drippn smh

  • @SweetAzz11000 Yeah....tears!

  • I never fail to tear up at this part

  • Just made me cry. Ughhh

  • WHOOPIE GOLDBERG IS ONE UGLY BEAST

  • @lilpatakapwillz Ugly or not...she's been an A list star for over 30 years...not many can say that. Beside she's comfortable with the way she looks, she's made that quite clear.

  • @lilpatakapwillz She look like a pitbull

  • I love this scene. I cried watching this scene and the "God's trying to tell you something" Prodigal "daughter" scene.

  • The first time i watched this part of the movie, i shed tears!Great Movie.

  • thank you very much! my mom and i share a bond thru this movie. especially this part. in fact, my mom's nickname is 'mama boonie' bc of what adam says to celie! and yes, i'm crying but smiling too!

  • this movie makes me cry, but its truly were a blessing

  • why does nettie look the same?

  • @AGpixar2000 they probably cant find someone that looks the same

  • @AGpixar2000 I think it might be to remind us of the fact that Celie had a hard life, and she aged faster than Nettie. Nettie didn't have to deal with at the shit Celie did so she is in better condition

  • This whole movie makes me cry, fro beginning to end. we need more movies like this.

  • Esta es la parte que me hace llorar :')

  • simplement magnifique whoopy grande et magnifique actrice oprah winfrey meconnaissable superbe grand grand film

  • simplement magnifique whoopy grande et magnifique actrice

  • Ive seen this movie about 100 times, and i STILL cry at this part.

  • Love this scene!

  • SO POWERFULL, IF YOU DO NOT CRY IT IS BECAUSE YOUR HART IS MADE OF SAND, I DO REMEMEBER THE FIRST TIME, I CRIED. AND CRIED AND CRIED, A PERFECT PERFORMANCES OF ALL OF THEM, SPILDBERG YOU REALLY GOT A HIT, SO BAD NO ACADEMY AWARDS WERE GIVEN, BUT DOES NOT MATTER THIS MOVIE IS A GOLD HEART ACADEMY WINNER FROM ALL TIMES IN THE WORLD

  • @MAEMURRAY I guess my heart is sand.

  • What a shame, no single OSCAR!

  • If you don't cry with this last scene you can't be human!

Thanks Steven Spielberg for this picture

  • @gonzo77ffm I don't cry very often at movies -- I don't know why: I just don't -- but when I saw this movie many years ago, I cried during this scene, all through the credits and after the lights came up. The couple in front of us were so worried that they asked my husband if I were all right. I haven't seen the movie since (I think I've been half afraid to), and seeing this scene once again made me sob uncontrollably.

  • im proid to say this makes me cry... a beautiful ending to a chaotic plotline

  • He did so much to hurt them. In the grand scope of things, this seemed like too little, too late.

  • i did that with my sister..missed her hand..and hit her face..i was arrested later on for battery...

  • Anyone who doesn't cry is a living heart donor!

  • BELLISSIMO FILM EMOZIONE PURA

  • Every time I see this scene tears just come. No matter how many times I see this movie!!

  • Yeah, don't watch this at work (unless you need a good excuse to cry). Powerful.

  • Her son is hot..

  • This is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Usually at the top.

  • Bawl like a baby everytime

  • Bawl like a baby everytime!

  • my all time fave movie and the best scene in the movie!! makes me bawl like a baby every single time!!

  • I just watched this movine earlier on a vhs recording tape since the movie came on the Oprah channel. The ending gets me almost to tears and I'm a guy for crying out loud LOL. I dunno if its because of Celie's reunion with her son and daughter or someting but I almost cry everytime I watch Celie's son talk to her in his half english and half african language

  • @urrutiap being a "guy" doesnt stop tears of joy from coming to ones own eyes!! I love it when a man cries because that shows me that he has feelings and iis sensitive!! of course we all have to be serious and strong when needed but never be afraid to cry when you have to!!!

  • I bawl EVERY TIME I see this it hits a deep place inside of me from my own past. Just watched it again and started sobbing....

  • which one is celie?

  • @6soccerchix The one with the glasses. It's called Celie's reunion because she's finally reunited with her childre, who were taken from her when they were born. And her sister, who was kept from her by her husband. If you haven't seen the movie you need to watch it. It makes this scene that much more powerful because you understand what she went through to get to this point.

  • This has always been my favorite movie, and this is my favorite part. The emotions are so real,it truly touches your heart.I've seen this at least twenty times, and i cry every single time.

  • Arguably Spielberg's most touching moment. Even watching that two minute clip makes me shed a tear. Beautiful.

  • best drama of all time. nothing captures the love between two sisters like this one. if someone watches this movie and doesn't at least tear up, then ice water and shug avery pee is flowing through their veins!

  • i saw this movie for the first time when it came out on VHS..remember those?! i was only six, but remember the emotions being very vivid. it wasn't until i was about twenty and went back to it, and i have been in love with it ever since. i have only a sister and have never viewed a movie that captures that love and devotion like this one. best drama of all time!

  • i saw this movie in the movie theater when it came out i was about 13 years old and it is still one of my favorite movies ever. it is an absolute injustice that this movie didn't win any oscars.
