Hmmm, I would find it hard to believe any of Michael's fans would put their trust in Rabbi Shmuley. I wouldn't. The rabbi's reputation (and his 11th Commandment) has been well known for many years. I would guess Michael had a pretty good idea what to expect, and may have sought Shmuley out for that very reason. What the rabbi says is irrelevant to me, but I found what Michael said quite interesting. I wouldn't think Michael would have wanted the tapes released during his lifetime. Puzzling!

Actually, it has been widely known for at least a decade that the marriage was miserable. Michael was never in love with her. LMP and Michael never denied that. She said they argued constantly, then she gave examples. Michael walked out on LMP. She said she filed for the divorce 6 weeks later. Michael said LMP always complained that he treated her like the furniture.
LMP said Michael would just leave and hide from her for days or weeks at a time, and he would never call. In the tapes Michael made between 1999 and 2001, Michael distinctly said that he never told LMP that he did not feel the same way about her that she felt about him because it felt that would be too painful for her.
In those tapes we also hear Michael say that after the divorce he simply didn't have any feelings for her. That she wrote him letters offering to have 9 babies for him but he wasn't interested. He said she followed him all over the globe and that was very hard on him. He said when he saw her coming he would go the other way. In a RS interview, LMP said she stopped chasing him because it had gotten so bad that he didn't even want to have sex with her.

Our thanks to @usaearthling for the reference to the HIStory dedication. I had forgotten about it. This dedication is one of the reasons why LMP felt so badly used by Michael. There is an interesting story behind that dedication. The album was recorded and produced during the early part of that brief marriage and was released in 1995.
The first single released from the album was the double A-side "Scream/Childhood." "Scream," as we know, was a duet performed with Jackson's youngest sister Janet. The song fights against the media, mainly for what the media made him out to be after the 1993 child abuse allegations made by the extortionist went public.
During 1994 and 1995 Michael was focused on his fight with the media and its attempts to portray him as a homosexual pedophile. Sometime around November 1995, within months after that dedication was written, told LMP about Rowe's offer to have children for him, gave LMP an ultimatum, and subsequently walked out on LMP.
Yes, admittedly, it does certainly look as if Michael publicly used LMP once again with that dedication, which was nothing more than another publicity stunt, but she publicly claimed that she wanted to save him from the media's shark attacks and she did publicly admit that she participated in those publicity stunts. It is very likely that she helped to draft that dedication.
She obviously didn't take that dedication seriously, and given these facts, neither should we. What is meaningful is what Michael and LMP said after he gave up on that ploy and communicated honestly and the way he had always done before with the public. The media was not deceived by those publicity stunts and neither were most of his fans.
Spiteful, several times after Michael walked out on her, LMP attempted to get Michael to publicly admit to the real reason why he married her and the other "publicity stunts," as she characterized them. Michael refused, but this is what he finally said: “Michael Jackson wishes Lisa Marie all the best in the world. However, as to a comment on anything to do with their marriage, as a gentleman Michael prefers not to respond.”
I've talked with someone who was a bodyguard/friend of MJ's for 20 yrs. He said the marriage was real. I saw an interesting show on the similarities of the two of them I think on the TV guide network not too long ago. However I don't think they are ever compared on the quality of work seeing as MJ had the advantage of high tech/new technology.

@marcia7523 I recall when I followed MJ's career in the 80's and he did interviews he would talk alot about Diana Ross. I could feel the love he had for her and it wasn't a platonic love. I would like to know more about the women he dated and keep out of the public. I have loved Michael and the Jackson family for years but I would have loved to have seen him in a relationship with an African American woman-it would have been beautiful and I think he would have been happy.

Hmmm, I would find it hard to believe any of Michael's fans would put their trust in Rabbi Shmuley. I wouldn't. The rabbi's reputation (and his 11th Commandment) has been well known for many years. I would guess Michael had a pretty good idea what to expect, and may have sought Shmuley out for that very reason. What the rabbi says is irrelevant to me, but I found what Michael said quite interesting. I wouldn't think Michael would have wanted the tapes released during his lifetime. Puzzling!

Actually, it has been widely known for at least a decade that the marriage was miserable. Michael was never in love with her. LMP and Michael never denied that. She said they argued constantly, then she gave examples. Michael walked out on LMP. She said she filed for the divorce 6 weeks later. Michael said LMP always complained that he treated her like the furniture.

In the tapes Michael made between 1999 and 2001, Michael distinctly said that he never told LMP that he did not feel the same way about her that she felt about him because it felt that would be too painful for her.

He said she followed him all over the globe and that was very hard on him. He said when he saw her coming he would go the other way. In a RS interview, LMP said she stopped chasing him because it had gotten so bad that he didn't even want to have sex with her.

Our thanks to @usaearthling for the reference to the HIStory dedication. I had forgotten about it. This dedication is one of the reasons why LMP felt so badly used by Michael. There is an interesting story behind that dedication. The album was recorded and produced during the early part of that brief marriage and was released in 1995.

The first single released from the album was the double A-side "Scream/Childhood." "Scream," as we know, was a duet performed with Jackson's youngest sister Janet. The song fights against the media, mainly for what the media made him out to be after the 1993 child abuse allegations made by the extortionist went public.

During 1994 and 1995 Michael was focused on his fight with the media and its attempts to portray him as a homosexual pedophile. Sometime around November 1995, within months after that dedication was written, told LMP about Rowe's offer to have children for him, gave LMP an ultimatum, and subsequently walked out on LMP.

Yes, admittedly, it does certainly look as if Michael publicly used LMP once again with that dedication, which was nothing more than another publicity stunt, but she publicly claimed that she wanted to save him from the media's shark attacks and she did publicly admit that she participated in those publicity stunts. It is very likely that she helped to draft that dedication.

She obviously didn't take that dedication seriously, and given these facts, neither should we. What is meaningful is what Michael and LMP said after he gave up on that ploy and communicated honestly and the way he had always done before with the public. The media was not deceived by those publicity stunts and neither were most of his fans.

Spiteful, several times after Michael walked out on her, LMP attempted to get Michael to publicly admit to the real reason why he married her and the other "publicity stunts," as she characterized them. Michael refused, but this is what he finally said: “Michael Jackson wishes Lisa Marie all the best in the world. However, as to a comment on anything to do with their marriage, as a gentleman Michael prefers not to respond.”

I've talked with someone who was a bodyguard/friend of MJ's for 20 yrs. He said the marriage was real. So did Donald Trump, the photographer that took their wedding portraits, studio engineers on the music forums, artists that did paintings of them, his Dad, ...it goes on & on. @LetLoveRockOn Thank you, I love it too. Michael was an awesome husband. He was also such a proud father of his children, he just beamed with so much pride when he was with them. His "little entourage of love". Those children will grow up strong like him and will stand up for their "daddy" no matter what the media and the haters want to paint him as. Love this video and the song just makes it that much more touching.

Throughout my life, I have been able to truly enjoy and support actors, singers, and musicians without ever feel any desire for them to "bond" with me, another black woman, or anyone else. Why should Michael have had the burden of bonding with a particular woman or a particular type of woman?

Here is the bottom line for me: If we cannot look at an entertainer, for example, and acknowledge, appreciate, and reward him (or her) based upon the personality, gifts and talents he (or she) exhibits, but instead implicitly require that that person "bond" with us by either a show of similar physical characteristics or a love of physical characteristics that we ourselves have, then there is something deeply wrong with us.

I don't believe he was in love with here which is why she said some mean things about him during the trials. MY friend said he wanted kids with Lisa and she wanted them too but when they got married Priscilla talked Lisa out of it. I recall Priscilla saying some hateful things about MJ and I find that funny since she isn't the model of a perfect parent.

N addition 2 that they would be biracial children, which is what I believe he truly wanted most. He said she wrote tons of letters 2 him & begged him 2 take her back saying she would have10 kids for him if he liked. And he said he was just done with her. The way he talked was if he was just too thru with her & was totally disconnected.

I think it's strange how all of a sudden he wants to write a book after Michael is gone. Why write the book when he was alive so he could respond to the book. @marcia7523 Incidentally, Priscilla made a similar assertion during her Oprah appearance--which, frankly, I found rather ludicrous. She implied, for example, that Michael was thinking of Graceland when he named Neverland. That seems wholly doubtful. It is far more likely that Michael had the mystical, mythical land of Peter Pan, the Darling children, and the lost boys who would never grow up in mind.

When Presley died there were no notable shameless vultures to be found.

Presley was born in Mississippi and spent most of his youth and adult life in Tennessee. Jackson was born in Indiana and spent most of his youth and adult life in California.
Presley served in the military; Jackson did not. Jackson was also a dancer; Presley was not.

Like far too many entertainers, both men had a history of taking strong prescription drugs. Presley died at age 42, of a heart attack. Jackson died at age 50, apparently of an administered overdose. Foul play was not seriously considered to be a contributing factor in Presley's death. Jackson's death may likely result in a murder trial. Where is the notable comparison?

@marcia7523 Why is that significant? Jackson's detractors, accusers and attackers (I do not count you among them) were allowed to play the game "fast and loose." Strategically, that was a grave error. Those individuals were allowed to put forth assumptions and assertions, unchallenged. Having allowed them to freely do that, they were easily able to draw conclusions which, in reality, were based upon false assumptions to begin with.

Second, Michael knew Dr. Deepak Chopra very well and would undoubtedly have been familiar with his and Dr. Wayne Dyer work. These two men did a lecture series together years ago called "How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want." One of the four principles is being absolutely passionate about what you want.

@angie11555 If you don't know that MJ & Elvis are compared just by their sheer greatness or personas, stage presence, the affects they both had on fans, the way they died, etc...then I don't know where you've been. I saw an interesting show on the similarities of the two of them I think on the TV guide network not too long ago. However I don't think they are ever compared on the quality of work seeing as MJ had the advantage of high tech/new technology.

I would like to know more about the women he dated and keep out of the public. I have loved Michael and the Jackson family for years but I would have loved to have seen him in a relationship with an African American woman-it would have been beautiful and I think he would have been happy.

Now I didn't know MJ at all, however as you have mentioned it was very apparent to see when MJ was in love. He expressed his love for Diana many times in interviews.

I have followed his career and that of the Jackson family faithfully for a long time. I just enjoy their music and respect them. I don't know them personally but sometimes I do believe that God can give you a inside glimpse of what a person is like and I know Michael was a loving and good man. It makes me think if they have been fed some mess about whether or not they can have a lasting relationship with a black woman. I really do think the could have had a good relationship with someone like Stephanie MIlls and I do think he wanted a deeper relationship with Diana Ross. It's all a moot point now since he is no longer with us.

Those actions and mannerisms were not present while he was with LMP. The infamous kiss & music video that was so obviously forced & out of character was nothing more than PR. I'm sure it was hard and painful for her to accept the truth, but she finally did--Michael was never in love with her. She indicated that in virtually all of her interviews, and Michael said he wasn't in love with her in the tapes he made 10 years ago. If he didn't have a bond with Lisa, I'd like to think he had a bond with a woman at one point in his life. Truth is they were both spoiled. Michael said he wasn't in love with her at one point, but before they were married he gave intwerveiws and said he was in love with her. To be blunt , Michael didn't trust women, except his Mom and maybe Janet.

@MsChemicalEngineer As we all know, over the years LMP gave a stream of interviews in which she was openly hostile toward him. Immediately after Michael died, she wrote, "Any ill experience or words I have felt towards him in the past has just died inside of me along with him," and that Michael was not to be underestimated and sometimes did things for the wrong reasons. Is this a woman who came to the realization that the man she married was not in love with her? Undoubtedly, yes!

@MsChemicalEngineer Later, when asked, she was unable to say Michael loved her. When asked if she had been used by Michael, her response was "All of the signs point to that." In another interview, LMP claimed Michael was "a very manipulative person" who had misled her. Shortly before Michael died, she gave an interview in which she said leaving her first husband to marry her second was the biggest mistake of her life.

@MsChemicalEngineer LMP later said she had wanted to save Michael (from the media). She said that at the time, she wondered why Michael had not actually proposed to her. She said he asked her, "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it?" to which she responded, yes. That does indeed sound like a request for a favor from a friend, rather than a request for the hand of a woman from a man who is in love.

@MsChemicalEngineer How likely is it that Michael would have been physically attracted to a recently pregnant, married woman? (She had given birth to a son in Oct. 1992, just months before that meeting. In April 1994, she announced her separation from Keough. Later that month, she flew to the Dominican Republic to get a quick divorce, which was finalized on May 6th. Less than two weeks later, she married Michael.)

@MsChemicalEngineer Michael's second marriage indicates that he would indeed marry for reasons other than love, if the reasons themselves were important enough to him. LMP has never denied that she pursued him before or after the marriage. In fact, she confirmed both.Based upon information such as that and, more importantly, a look at everything LMP and Michael said and did over the years, it would be unreasonable to argue--from a rational point of view--that Michael was ever in love with LMP.

@MsChemicalEngineer In early 1993, they were reintroduced by Brett, a mutual friend, who later said LMP insisted upon meeting with Michael and "relentlessly pursued" him. According to Brett, Michael had only asked that she send a demo tape. Michael later said she would call him every day and become "very frustrated" if she could not get through to him.

@36NancyFox you're taking thisout of context. He said that she called all the time while he was out ont he dangerous tour. She was worried about him and often called Michael and if she couldn't reach him she was frustrated. Probably because she wated to help him, and had at least suggested the idea of marriageto her. I swear I get a lot of anti Lisa sentiment coming through. She has her faults but I for one envy her close relationship with Michael, no matter how short it would have been,

@MsChemicalEngineer Then, after he walked out on her and got the divorce she decided to dog him around the world. Why not just leave the man alone and let him live in peace. But NO, LMP went on an ego trip for the rest of his life. When dogging him around the world didn't help, she joined forces with the media and attacked him every chance she got. You envy her? Dear, Michael was a celebrity. Would he have been interested in you for one second? No. Get real!

@36NancyFox I wouldn't have been interested Michael except as a friend! Who wouldn't want to at least be friends with him though? I'd have loved the opportunity to talk to him, not sleep with him. He was really handsome at one point, but I'm taller than him, I couldn't take that. I said I envied Lisa her relationship with Michael, I do. I think she was fortunate to have gotten close to him and gotten to know him. By all accounts, Lisa said he was dynamite in bed. Personally, TMI.

@MsChemicalEngineer Look, dear, LMP had about as much in common with Michael as you have with me. They were completely incompatible and, culturally, they didn't even speak the same language. For historical reasons, Black men cringe at even the thought of sleeping with a woman who is going to get up and tell her friends about his performance. White women are known for doing that (which is probably why Michael didn't sleep with Shields). LMP broadcast that to the WORLD! It's late. Good Night!

@MsChemicalEngineer LMP is the one who persuaded Michael to settle out of court and go into rehab. How incredibly stupid can a person be? A black person, settling out of court? Who would have believed he was innocent after doing that? The average white person? That's not what history suggests! Rehab? Is that going to have a long-lasting effect if the problem is still there? Of course not. As soon as he left rehab he would seek out relief from the pain.

@MsChemicalEngineer LMP is a loose cannon on the deck. Think about it. If she had been concerned about him and intelligent enough to realize how anxious he would have been feeling about losing everything he had worked for since he was a child, she would not have been giving him a hard time during that brief marriage. According to her, they argued constantly. Now, did he need that extra stress in addition to everything else. NO!
