  • Ed, just came back to revisit this.... I do love this song... ~Marie

  • OH FUCK. :(

  • <3

  • Please put this on the next album.

  • wow..... just wow

  • i finally realized his shirt says inspi(red).... and I am.

  • AAHHH it is not country!!! WallardTree check out some shows!

  • @LAPOBRIEN1 uuuummm... if you read the note that ED WROTE right up under the uploaded by bnlmusic part.... it IS country... in his own words.

  • i love you ed :)

  • The best song of true regret. I am convinced that this song is the last of a trilogy of 3 songs: Wind it up, For You and He Makes Me. If you listen to all three consecutively, it's the story of a person who gets fed up one day, packs up and leaves the next and then regrets it for the rest of his life. A great lesson for those who are thinking of packing their relationship in and moving on without appreciating what they have. Thanks Ed for your insights. You are Yoda!!!

  • Wow *wipes tear* speechless!!

  • Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

  • ted if you read these comments i just want to say you and the band have helped me thought some tuff stuff and i think you and the bnl thanks

  • Wow, I am at a loss for words. This is amazing. Simply amazing.

  • This has had me in bits all night. Simply stunning.

  • This is the best thing any member of BNL has ever done. That's saying quite a bit.

  • this song is pretty much a description of my life lol

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love your voice and music Ed! Please make more Bathroom Sessions!

  • @WallardTree and to think it only took a canadian to do it! lol

  • I haven't seen this until now. It is poignant and beautiful. So many BNL songs have struck a chord with me and this one is particularly special.

    Thanks Ed.

  • Maybe this sounds a little crazy, but i think Ed should do a country album. Hell I'd buy 10.

  • I love this side to your music more than I can say. Your wit has always made me smile and the beats have had me hooked, but I'm really wanting more of the deep, sensitive, poetic Ed we're hearing here. Such a beautiful voice too! You rock :)

  • Ed, this song is gorgeous and so heartbreaking. Beautiful, beautiful, excellent work.

  • My friend George Canyon covered this, and I feel sad not knowing it was Ed who wrote this song. It's an amazing song

  • How did you give this song away?

Echoing the sentiments of the rest of the entire internetz in that these bathroom songs are all amazing. Thanks a lot.

  • This is beautiful ! Ed is always beautiful and his voice is fantastic ! awesome ed, you rock <3

  • Just came by to see again... Ed, you are the coolest! :D

    ~Marie

  • this is such a pretty song. i love it so much

  • i keep listening to this over and over, so i went to iTunes to listen to the John Berry version. This is just so much better :)

  • Wow. This song is great.

  • This is the first time i've heard this song, long time Bnl fan it just blew me away.Put this on the next album please Ed :) Does anyone know what chords he's doing at 34-39 seconds? looks like index finger is doing a barre chord but can't see cause he slides down right too quickly to see it good. Thanks again

  • on 34 he plays index on the second fret fifth string his ring is on the fourth fret fourth string and his middle finger is on the third fret and either second or first string, then at 35 he slides his index down to the third fret same string. I don't know the one at 37, then at 39 his index is on first fret second string middle finger is on the second fret fifth string and his ring finger is on the third fret fourth string. the last cord at 39 near 40 is a simple D chord. Hope that helps.

  • Mes is right about the first two chords. I think the first one is called Em9, but I don't know what it would be called when he moves his index to the third fret. After that, when I play it, it sounds right to play Am, C, D. I'm not totally certain if it's right, but it sounds right to me.

  • I think this song could be taken in several ways... and I love them all.

  • Maybe country is cool now because of you, Ed!

  • do u have a secret love child ed??? where did that song come from, its stunning...

  • A sad love Story put to a Beautiful song..

Ed,u should record this as it is!

    Nuff'Said.......

  • I completely agree!

  • funny to listen to that because I was talking to my ex today, I still want her, but she's with someone else

  • This is honestly one of the saddest songs I've ever heard... You should perform this more often, it's really fucking good.

  • I think You will be waiting is a great tune, but never gets enough attention, This is also a beautiful song.

  • You Will Be Waiting is one of my favorites too. Also.....The Flag, they have NEVER played that at the concerts I've been to. It would be amazing to hear it live, when the cello kicks in..oh myyyyyy. so sad

  • This song is beautiful. I'm glad I re-became a fan of BNL lately. this song really does make me sad. I hope I never feel closer to this song than I do right now. If I do I think I would die. Keep up the good work, your music is inspiring, and wonderful. Have a good one, laters.

    ~Proverbiation

  • Absolutely beautiful. You can see the emotion in your face and hear it in your voice. Wonderfuly amazing. Sad but beautiful.

  • This is making me cry. Thank you.

  • i thought that "am i the only one" was the saddest song, but this one ... wow. it's so beautiful.

  • Damn- you guys are so good, you make me want to cry! Thanks Ed this is brillant song, pity its not on the album! :-)

  • this is because it's a John Berry tune - but you can see some influences between this song and "light up my room" - have a listen - the chords are pretty close

  • wow- I've never heard this song before! I love it! :) sad but beautiful

  • Damn i know this feeling oh too well :(

  • So this song, it makes me smile. A really big dorky smile. Those kinds you don't want anyone to see, because they're just that dorky, and googly.

    I adore this song..

    & I adore BNL.

  • I Think I like this sog the most!

    great song,keep it up!

  • The mention of 'country' reminded me of Long Way Back Home, I'd love to hear that given the bathroom treatment.

  • You made my headache go away!

  • ur a great singer and guitar play i wish i could play in that way

  • Ed! WTF isn't this on an album?! It's fantastic! So much better than the rubbish "country" on the radio that no one can identify with about Ford trucks and John Deere tractors. Thanks for making the genre accessible again! :)

  • Ed~What are you sitting on?~Amy****

  • I've always liked Country (even when it wasn't cool) because of the raw emotion that goes into songs like this one. Your voice is so perfect for the genre, too! I think I have a new favourite song. :-)

  • Wait a damned minute, here! THAT's not a bathroom!

  • This song is amazing, I'm suprised it hasn't surfaced on an album yet, it's so purdy!

  • ED YOU MAKE ME SMALE!!!!

1 qusnt ed can you think

about singig 4 itunes with bnl?

    thanks you rock carlie

  • I can't get enough of you! Thanks again for doing such a wonderful thing for your fans! I love when you sing the more country like songs - you're an amazingly versatile musician!

    Marie

  • I agree with JupieK!! Thanks for creating the bathroom sessions! They're the BEST!!

  • Thank you Ed. My third favorite song in the entire world. (right behind Half a Heart and For You, and followed by When I fall.)

  • Such a beautiful song. No other word for it. Thanks Ed. See ya in Leeds & Manchester in a couple of weeks.

  • most musicians know that bathrooms have amazing accoustics, its where you sound the best....thanks for proving it ed *grins*

  • Wow - this is such an amazingly beautiful song....its gone shooting to the top of my favourite songs. Thank you so much for the gift of these sessions they are truly special and once again remind me why I feel privileged to be a BNL fan - see you in London on the 31st!

  • This is such a beautiful song. I LOVE it!!

  • I love it when you do the slower songs. The upbeat stuff is fab, but it's nice to see the softer side of you guys too. Also - amazingly great acoustics for a bathroom!

  • Wow! You are truly talented Ed, that song is beautiful!

  • Yet another reason why BNL will be my favorite band until the end of time, thank you, Ed, that was lovely!

    - Beth :)

  • Yet another reason why BNL will be my favorite band until the end of time, thank you, Ed, that was lovely!

    - Beth :)

  • This is a heartbreakingly beautiful song! Thank you!!!

  • This is STUNNING! Even if you are singing it in a bathroom!

  • I have truly enjoyed listening to and watching a grown man sing on the potty. Does that mean there is something wrong with me? Ed.. you are awesome!! Can't wait for 6/15!

  • A song recorded in the bathroom? We should "leak" this to the media! Thanks, Ed...that was fun. - Josh G.

  • OMG! This is starting to make me laugh now!

  • A singer and a song; what a simple and delightful concept. Thank you.

  • I prefer your version. There's only ever been one artist who's songs have been able to literally make me fill with so much emotion that I cry just from the combination of lyrics and music but after listening to you sing and play that song there are now two artists that are capable of making me cry :) You and Paul Brandt....go figure!! Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder so is the 'coolness' of music in the ear of the listener!!

  • What a beautiful song *wipes away my tears*

  • Yes, Ed you are still cool. Way cool! ; )

    Thank you for this!

  • COUNTRY MUSIC ROCKS!

  • Really Love this One...~ Sweet sweet Song!

  • This is such a beautiful song and I've always enjoyed it. It's wonderful to hear Ed singing it!
