@bradsedig I really want to come ride south mtn, I just need to plan for it in my schedule. but now it's starting to get hot so I will have to wait until maybe November now.
Terry, what do you do for a living? You live in the 2nd most expensive part of the country, have tons of expensive gear, and seem to have a lot of free time.
@RicksonByArmbar Hi Rick. I'm a piano technician but semi retired now, so I'm very fortunate to have lots of free time for riding. Not rich by any standard though, but comfortable.
@ttt8699 that's cool! I'm clearly in the wrong business! I just got a 36" coker (as a gift) but I'll be lucky if I get to ride it once a week. Any tips for me? I've ridden one but can't freemount it yet.
I was wondering how you keep your feet on the pedals, because whenever I get my foot slightly wet it is like walking in a ice rink without skates. Is it good pedals or good shoes, or both?
@Curradus yeah it's pretty much both shoes and pedals. I have 5.10 high impact shoes which have amazingly good grip even when wet, and the pedals are also very grippy called "drillium" made by speedplay. Pricey at about $109 per pair, but well worth it imo.
My answer: WHY NOT? Why do people ride bikes, climb mountains, wrestle crocodiles, lol! MUni is the most challenging, FUN, awesome sport and it's just about the most efficient way to get fit and stay fit! IT'S FUN! :)
I bet you could. I didn't even start until I turned 50! It's one of those things that once you learn, you're hooked! I thought the idea of MUni (mountain unicycling) was crazy, but once I got out there and got into it, it has changed my life is a million great ways. But I realize that just the mere thought of learning might be the first big negative that will prevent a person from even getting started.
Wow some great footage there! The sound track really conveyed the feeling of the flood. Talking of footage your 5-10's took a beating there Terry. Did they stand up ok to that treatment?
Very peaceful to hear the river. I miss the rain.. and it looks like a few other brave souls were out enjoying the trail. Really enjoyed this video, great footage! And can't wait to see you in the final for 50 Athletes over 50! I know you are going to be very impressed with what Don has created.
Yeah I love that place a lot and find much peace and solace there. I am looking forward to Don's book for sure and he emailed to tell me he will be visiting my area at the end of the month.
Thanks, I had more than usual fun making it! I was thinking that any minute a HUGE wall of water and mud would come crashing down the canyon! luckily it didn't! :)
Terry, my man, you're my role model regarding unicycling! I'm actually learning by your videos (shame I can't even pedal forwards right now).
I can't wait to get my retirement (or at least a vacation) and go for uni riding as you do...

Must be rough getting all that rain...try living in coastal British Columbia! (actually that's definitely a LOT of rain, even by my standards!!)
This video was really fun to watch!
