  • Nice hood. Boring fish

  • cool tank but your fish are lame man get something badass for a eight hundred dollar set up like that lol

  • Thats one lush tank :)

  • Tell your fish I hate them.

  • WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!

  • that is un-needed but cool

  • So once you hit the button once it will extend all the way? Or can you adjust the height of the canopy a little at a time?

  • My attempt at this would involve the use of a rope and pulley haha.

  • That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen when it comes to suspending a light over an aquarium. I'm very impressed and I hope you don't mind me stealing that idea for a few customers aquariums as well. :) thank again. simply genius.

  • coll the lights go up and down just like in a grow op

  • cool and nice

  • Wow ...... this motorized hood is incredible please tell me how ya did it i need it! thanks... Frank

  • hey i have a question, how is your protein skimmer? Is it quiet and efficient? Thanks and btw nice canopy!

  • love the canopy dude

  • does the setup stink at times???

  • lol and then the cord snaps

  • that is a cool lift :)

  • i have the same tank except my tank is a show tank so its tall not wide i like the wide better lot easer to clean

  • how do u make the water blue?

  • @littlehawk299 clearly it's food coloring!

but seriously, it's higher kelvin bulbs, daylight bulbs sit at 6500K and the higher you go (up to about 20 000K) the more blue you get.

  • @sharpiesreef I have a 20 gallon tank , so can i buy a blue bulb in the pet shop and use that to give the blue effect.? thx

  • @littlehawk299 you would buy an "actinic blue" or "Fiji Purple" bulb, if it's freshwater then the bulb choice is of no consequence.

  • Cool as sheet.

  • Ha! Pimp my aquarium canopy! :) Thanks for sharing.

  • nice tank

  • thats cool but i think that its kinda lame that you havethis crazy saltrwater tank and you get those gay fish

  • so dope

    thanks for sharing bud =)

  • wow so you wasted all that time and money so you didnt have to take 2 seconds and lift it up yourself not to mention you should have invested in some decent corals and livestock before wasting money on this lol and like nugburner420 said this is an accident waiting to happen.

  • thats really fucking awsome

  • 3 times a day of motor lifting that, times 7 days a week = a accident waiting to happen

  • Simply AWESOME!

  • your fish are pimps

  • This is damn awesome :O

  • very cool. now get one of those water alarms that email your phone when the water quality gets outta wack lol

  • That is one awesome tank.

  • Thanks for all the feedback. :-) The automatic lift gives me many advantages. Easy access for maintenance - allows for new coral light acclimation (raise canopy, then gradually lower over a week) - the coolness factor - no blinding from extreme bright halides when I feed the fish - easy bulb changes - the coolness factor - easier PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) readings - no need to bug my wife to remove the 6ft 70lb canopy - did I mention the coolness factor! :-)

  • is that all actinic lighting in there?

  • Comment removed

  • freakin sweet

  • aw son of a bitch, i was going to do this to my new 125, i though i was being orginal

  • it doesnt matter ... if u like it i think u should totally do it ... its pretty damn awesome

  • I love looking at saltwater aquarium though they are too much work and are very expensive.

  • once its established ...they are easier to take care of then a freshwater tank.. especially if you go bigger.. my shops 125 cares for itself ...and $ wise go piece by piece.. new tanks you can only put certain cheaper things in anyways

  • @Impalascraper wath do you talking about????

  • expensive yes, if you dont know where to look. Hard work? not really, i spend maybe an hour a week working on mine

  • Any idea where to get these motors from?

  • bolts get lose and them boom crashing down lol.

  • that was cool

  • awesome!!!!

  • thats raw! im conveting to marine and gonna get a custom tank installed in my whole wall :D

  • it would be awesome to get one that slowly passes over the tank over a 10 hour period that simulates the sun passing overhead during morning afternoon and evening

  • awesome dude it looks kool

  • how old is ur tank???

  • Huhh? "reef in his pants"?

  • pubez lmao

  • ahaha u callin me gay - wid a name like homie dog u fukin looser

  • @samsreef wtf is this dude on?

  • LOL!

  • what are the maesurs of the tank ?? :)

  • This tank is 72" x 18" x 22" and is a standard 125g.

  • ok, thanks :)

Then i just want to know, How many kg's ''rocks'' du you have in your tank ? :)

  • 43kg (about 95lbs). Having the two separate reef structures in the tank allowed to cut my live rock budget in half. I also like the open aquascape. :-)

  • Fucking P.I.M.P

  • All it needs are cool fish to match that awesome reef!

  • i will get there one day!!! amazing.:-))))

mine is not a patch on yours! but at least i am trying if you care to see it on here titled: marek's reef aquarium

  • hey are u keepin sps coral under t-5's?

  • YES, HE IS!

  • I started out with T5's only and have since added metal halides. My light system is 3x150w HQI Radium 20K with 8x39w T5 Icecap SLR UVL Super Actinic, Actinic+ and Aquablue+.

  • very cool!

have 5 stars for your ingenuity!

  • WICKED!

  • awesome

  • i think this tank is cool, this guy must have a thing for those type of fish. i would have different types of tangs, lots of blue chromis, things that really color the tank.

    but to each his own!

  • That's kinda cool. But honestly what the hell is that for. What a waste of money I'd use that towards new fish. Nice reef, must've costed u a fortune...

  • AWESOME...DUDE.........

  • nice!!!

  • that's cool

  • how did you make the lid?

  • The canopy itself is from All-Glass aquarium. I did add some additional wood bracing and heavy duty brackets to accomodate the lift motor.

  • I just have one thing to say...BADASS!

  • very nice 5*, how meny lb of live rock in there

  • Thanks for the compliments. Just under 100lbs of mixed Pukani and Kaelini (Pacific) rock. Doing the two separate areas allowed me to get away with using a bit less live rock.

  • Great reef!!

    Check out his channel

  • What a choad.

  • ahaah choad - fucker

  • one question, I can real rocks in my aquarium??? Please comment on my channel!!!

  • Nice Fish Tank, You Got An Update?

Btw. You Guys Should Check Out My 72 And 33 Gallon Saltwater Fish Tanks. I Got A Reef, And Predator Tank. Check It Out Guys! Cause I Need Some Help With It, Some Questions About My Reef.

  • I have posted some updated videos of the reef. The corals have grown in and I have since added more fish. The newest videos are in HD!

  • dude, good on you for putting whatever YOU want in YOUR tank, looks good, motorised hood is pretty trick, screw what everyone else thinks you need in your tank :P

  • get a good clean-up crew to keep clean, i use lots of snails a few shrimps and a sand sifting starfish, maybe some hermits as well

  • u clean the tank thats how u keep it clean

  • kinda point less

    but awesome

  • Can any of you plz write back to me and explain to me how you all keep it so clean.... plz.... thank you

  • We clean our tanks, lol. Nah, seriously, if you want to get your' tank to crystal clear water, do a 50% water change, everyday for about a week. If you can't be arsed to do that, but I would only reccomend this as a last resort, get a UV Sterilizer.

  • but.. why. what's the point. talk about having too much money.

  • I guess I will have to answer it myself...linear acuators.

  • dude, how did you do that on the hood??? i would love to do something like that on mine...if you didn't do it, who did? any info would be appreciated.

  • cool but ugly fish. get some clowns and angels. look at the size of ur tank!

  • ok, how did that hood go up?

  • 0 stars

  • Pimp My Tank

  • That motorized hood is awesome. I've seen a lot of reef tanks and this is the first motorized hood like that I have seen. Very ingenious. Reef could use a little more, but the hood is cool.
