Lead Me O Lord is one of my Elvis Gospel favorites. I have the double disc Gospel album but never saw the video of him recording this song until today. @ 6 minute into this youtube. Given life , troubles, etc., it is wonderful to be uplifted by this talented, flawed, yet humble man.

I had never heard this song (The Lighthouse) until recently when I was lucky enough to see the Stamps Quartet perform it right across the street from Graceland, they reminisced about singing with Elvis, & LH was a song he would ask them to sing over, sometimes over 20 times in a row or more! He just loved the song & loved to just listen often rather than sing himself. Beautiful song.

Ok, let's put this debate to rest. The guy singing through the first 4 minutes of this clip is named Jerry Morris. Google Jerry Morris Elvis and his site is the first to pop up. You can listen to him singing karaoke versions in the style of Elvis, the Lighthouse and several other songs on his site. I'm sure he would be honored..and surprised to know that some of you thought his song was really Elvis.

I agree with everyone posting, I love to hear Elvis sing, esp. Gospel. The only problem is showing his later life pictures, with them when he led no life like the words that he sang which made him the worst kind of hypocrite. I know how he started and how he did follow for a time the ways of decent people and some of the ways of God; but his later life was almost completely opposite that, so I listen only and pay him no tribute at all!
The version at 4:05 is the best version i've ever heard of this song. Every other version just sounds so terrible and corny compared to that perfection.

@tngranny1 no problem. The clip is just not named correctly. The first 4 minutes is some guy who obviously liked Elvis buy obviously wasn't him singing to a karaoke track. The rest of the clip however is awesome including Donnie, JD, and the rest of the gang, including the real Elvis. yay!

For example “whether you like it or not, you are tone deaf.” To find out if it’s going to rain today then you need to watch the ‘Weather' Channel. I agree with everyone posting, I love to hear Elvis sing, esp. Gospel. The only problem is showing his later life pictures, with them when he led no life like the words that he sang which made him the worst kind of hypocrite. I know how he started and how he did follow for a time the ways of decent people and some of the ways of God; but his later life was almost completely opposite that, so I listen only and pay him no tribute at all!

You are right . the Lighthouse with the Pics was sang by someone other than Elvis,However all of these songs had speciel meaning to Elvis because he grew up singing these songs in church. A church I might add whose members were filled with the Spirit of GOD and this is what is called the annointing of GOD. But the Song The Light House was one of E's favorite and hanging out till the wee hours singing Gospel was a favorite pass time and the Lighthouse was a frequent song sang during these sessions with JD & The Stamps Usually singing The Light House But listen To E in the rest of these tunes he is just so devoted to Gospel

the lighthouse waswritten by Ronnie Hinson,and sung originally by The Hinsons.Kenny Hinson sung the lead on the original recording.Kenny died of throat cancer in 94 or 95.wha a loss to gospel music.

We played Elvis' "How Great Thou Art" studio version to begin my Mother's funeral service in July. We played ELVIS' "If We Never Meet Again (this side of Heaven" ...at closure of service.
The people were so very moved. No one sings gospel like ELVIS.
