  • Would these fans keep me from getting the RROD? Many thanks.

  • @Schnikerdoodle No guarantee for that. Perhaps, perhaps not - it all depends on your use, placement of the x-box etcetera. The only thing I do know is that it diminishes the awful sound on the earlier x-box models. I would not depend on it to eliminate the possibility of the RROD, although if you run the fans in high speed at all times, it does cool down the box fairly well.

  • thumbs uo from me and like this if u reckon the dream cast was one of the best consoles :)

  • @TanabeDrifters2010 It was, it was! :-D

  • Finally a professional comparison video!

  • wat for a board youve got? falcon? jasper? xenon? or zephyr?

  • @emkay1987 Oh I can't remember now. It's been a year now and I've gotten myself a new Arcade, but it was one of the first. It might have been a Falcon but I'm not sure, sorry.

  • This is EXACTLY the kind of video I've been looking for, thank you :D Brilliant! Will order those fans tomorrow.

  • awesome video, thanks

  • Nice vid bro :)

  • This is a great video, thanks for doing this! Helped me a lot.

  • DREAMCAST BOI ye mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn rip

  • dreamcast rocks!!!

  • thanks for the video, needed comparison like that :)

  • gota keep that dreamcast around because no one else is. i cant believe it went down hill.

  • thanks a lot for this video ;)

  • Nice vid. Certainly helps in my decision.

  • DUDE....NICE DREAMCAST

  • is it safe to have the fans running at 12v off the drives power all the time?

  • I'm not sure I understand your question completely, but I have it running on 12v always without having had any problems whatsoever. 12v is like the "max" drive the xbox had before - 5v is for either DVD use or for "gradual build-up" if you know what I mean. So 12v mode is fine - my box is staying rather cool by using it exclusively...

  • aight thanks man

  • @mfiorentino No matter where you take power from it will affect the whole board. i just depends on how many watts you are using. so it really doesnt matter if you take it from the DVD drive or not.

  • thxs for this vid my whisper max is coming today and my xbox 360 sure does sound like urs so its good to be adding this addition

  • Thanks for the vid. My box sounds just like yours and you helped me with my decision.

  • holy shit dude, your stocks are like a bloody plane!

    whispermax rules :)

  • Comment removed

  • I just installed it right now and Im not even getting close to those results. Its like 5% quieter then stock (running at 5v). Shocking you got those results. Then again your stock fan sounds like a jet plane for some reason. Thought mine was bad.

  • sounds like a good review/test to me, im definately buying this fan now & digging my dreamcast outta the attic lol

    w00t w00t dreamcast rocks ;o)

  • Thanks for the kind words.

In order to install games on the hard drive you need the New Xbox Experience, or NXE.

First, put your game in the drive. If it autoruns, just hit the Xbox Guide button and press Y to go back to the dashboard.Go to My Xbox - it should show you the game that you have. Press the Y button to go to Game Details. There should be an option to install the game. You do the same thing to uninstall it.

Remember that you still need the DVD in the drive while playing the game.

  • ya i hate people who watch a vid then talk shit about it its really gay and this is a great vid i just bought a blue led whisper

  • Thanks for making this video. It's been very helpful. I'd been debating getting a Whisper fan, 'cause the stock fan I got is REALLY loud--just like yours. I honestly don't find the DVD drive noise that bad... Anyway, I think you've convinced me to spend an extra twenty-something dollars on my Xbox 360.

On an off-topic note: Since I'm a total 360 n00b, how do you install games to the hard drive? I've just been playing off the disc so far.
