Another no no exercise! Why? There is no where in nature where we load the distal portion of the Tib/Fib for bio mechanics (human movement). As the load increases so does the shear force of the platella across the condyles or proximal portion of the Tib/Fib and wears away the back side of the platella (knee cap). Alternatives for strong quads? Single Leg Squats, Single Leg Wall Squat Extensions, Single Leg Presses, Bilateral Dumbell Squats or Bilateral Leg Presses.
@jbuiltman I agree with your very informative comment and doing those exercises you mentioned are bio-mechanically correct and they incorporate more muscle due to compound movements.

@JacksonMichaelBAD because your leg shouldnt be loaded like that. there is no natural exercise that would ever put that same load onto your leg.
