just go to video options and run the game in windowed(no border) mode ..... dont worry as it appears completely same as full screen mode . it should solve all the problems . enjoy

THIS IS THE FIX:

Start Steam->library->right click portal 2->the last button(properties?)->local files->verify local files->wait til it ended-> start portal 2->now it should download something-> NOW YOU CAN PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the crash fix u need the SKIDROW update -3!!! Here's howit works like a charm !!!!Just a 40 MB file downloads within minutes!!!!

GOTO YOUR PORTAL 2 FOLDER find portal 2 application,right click on it,find compatibility ,make sure you have RUN GAME IN COMPATIBILITY MODE enabled and find WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 2 use it and press APPLY,and YOUR PORTAL 2 SHOULD RUN PERFECTLY :P

i got it work for some time :D

Go to portal 2 folder portal2 then maps folder and run map sp_a3_transition01

MY Game didnt lag and worked well and then i opened door and it crashes.

same problem with random crashes, managed to beat the game though because it saves frequently but i cant play with developer commentary because it doesnt save in that mode :(
