my buddy just bought a brandnew grizz backed it up in a creck just over the peace of trash belt drive and could not make it out of the water the belt was just a slipping told him he should just bought a shaft drive bike well after that horrible day of rideing he tried getting in some water again and the same thing happend belt was just a slipping ill stick with honda not the fastest but its the best .

The best at what? See the pipes on the front of my bike, that takes care of the belt problem, The 700 grizzlies are amazing from factory. You screw your tranny up and let your buddy screw his up, then see who's cheaper and easier to fix.

nice grizz man, and to the honda fanboys: i owned a 2004 foreman es and the electric shift took a shit a total of 8 times before i traded the damn thing in on an can am 800, honda has less power, no locker, and is no more reliable than anything else and in my case less reliable. dont hate on this guy's grizz because your honda couldn't go through that.

i ride a 03 rancher es. dont have any problems with it anymore. only thing i had was the angle sensor went bad but hey shit happens. you use stuff and stuff will get wrecked. i am curious to know what all went bad with your es tho Moonshiner41. im not convinced that the es is bad at all. in fact i love it. it works awesome for me

im must have had a lemon, it messed up 8 times it was the little sensor on the front of the motor everytime, im guessing thats the angle sensor, the es is great when it works but keyword is "when" it works.

i buy mind brand new + 2 of my friend in 2002. 8 years later iv'e change 1 drive shaft seal and 1 wheel bearing. one on my friend changed 2 wheel bearing and the other one just the front driveshaft seal. considering we doo a lot of off trail riding and we shovel snow whit them that damn good. EZ maintnance too. still start and run like a new one.

i don't know what your dream atv is but while you were dreaming of quad you can't afford i was riding trail now for over 14 years 6 on my grizzly and can't count the number of time i've winch suzu, bombardier(can am) and polaris (MOSTLY polaris) out of trouble. usualy when a grizzly is stuck its because its gone were no one is dare to go. so go ahead and buy your damn weird noise-not reliable-won't start when its cold-weak frame king of nothing.i had suzuki before, no more 4 me, no thanx.

I have to agree about the whole belt drive thing. Belt drive isnt good when it gets wet it slips. I have a Honda Rincon. As far as what an atv will go through, it all depends on lift and tires. Has nothin to do with the make and model.
